Hi Michael,

Whilst I can supply a lead for the OLD Pilot , the software that is available will not program it.....the software will simply say "Pilot" on the very bottom line of the screen but gives no programming options.

Personally I would swap it out for a later VSi.

Cheers Woody

Woody are you selling the bluetooth boards for the PL8 charger?

He sold me mine.

Watch the vid of it in action while doing a quick vid yesterday.

I actually got 3. Only one fitted so far, but will get to it soon. Works like a charm. Cant manage without now as its just easy and seamless.

Laptop on bed in bedroom monitoring, and controlling. Powerchair (salsa) in the kitchen. Typical example of BT as I use it regularly testing batts or charging spare backup chairs etc. As here.

I can supply a board programmed to suit with the correct diode and some leads ... NOTE :- It's not plug and play so you will need to fit it internally / externally to the PL8.

Hi Woody - i may be interesting in one also - may give it a try - would you have or can supply instructions on how to do it - internally and externally ? pictures would be excellent :D

thanks

When I do the next one, I will do a set of pics and instructions. But really, its easy. And kind of self explanitory.

The low drop diode, is essential though. The simple signal diode works only if you dont charge at high power.
A couple of simple filter caps, may or may not be needed. I fitted them anyway. And its a bomb proof setup. Just works.

Once you do it, messing about having to plug it into a computer and being limited to length of USB wire etc is all a pain and not needed. You cant go back!

Ok i will be on the look out for your Pics and step by step - Will purchase from Woody and follow your instructions - if all goes well - i will do my others also - i run a few Pl8s at a time during the summer high usage and have wires all over the place - it works - but would be nice without that one wire also

now this can also be used with the Cable down the line if needed once its done wireless ?

IF your having more than one remind me to program them as PL8A ,B ,C etc... or some identifying word/s to help distinguish between each..

Yes. The way mine are done leaves a 3 pin connector hanging out of the rear, plugged into the same place the FUIM3 normally fits. So you just unplug that, and connect the FUIM3 instead.

But I dont think you will ever need do that. Maybe only for secure firmware updates. I would probably risk the BT though...

Warning. Not sure that the last 2 you programmed are working. Very fast test yesterday. The name change may make them not work... Spaces? More than 8 letters? Or it may have been something else. Will test them again soon.

Yes...All you need is a TTL-232R-3V3-WE and a little reprogramming via the FT_Prog utility.

On second thoughts I'd like to try and make a cable first if I have any problems I'd get you to do me one if that's ok.

Is the cable I've linked ok to order ?

Dont mean to mess you around

Yes ...that cable is fine ..you'll also need a mini molex.

I usually use something like this as the donor for the molex.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/4-Pin-Molex-to ... 0888&rt=nc

FTPProg is used to INVERT the RX and TX signals..

Ok sounds good going to order that now. Is there some sort of guide to program the cable and also a link to the appropriate software?
