How to control PC / Ipad with R-net Omni 2

Postby rollon64 » 25 Nov 2020, 18:19

Hello,
I'm using my wheelchair with the R-net Omni 2 now. I have to profiles for mouses and two profiles for idevices.

I do need a tutorial, how to control PC and idevices.

On the PC I can trigger four functions with my joystick. Left click, right-click, scroll up, or down. How can you make a double-click or drag and drop?

With idevice I can control my iOS devices with switch control.
There is another mode called Voiceover, which I don't understand.

Since iOS 13, iPhones and iPads have gotten mouse support. Is it possible now to control them with the Bluetooth mouse from Omni 2?
If it is not possible yet, can the Omni 2 be updated ?

I would appreciate it very much, if there is any tutorial on controlling these devices.

Greetings!

Will have a look at the help in the programmer later...

I took a look.

Do any of these settings make any sense?
Do you have a programmer?

Hi,
yes I do have a programmer.
I think there are 4 nudges for the mouse. Swipping cannot be performed.

Is the Omni2 able to be updated?

You can use nudges to perform the clicks? No need for extra switches.

Hi rollon, looking at your last post it seems we have similar issues. I haven't used r -net Bluetooth yet my omni 2 is on its way to me. The linX system only does switch control with the joystick so one joystick Will do eight switches using normal and long in each of forward reverse left and right. This is all very well but having to change to switch control to do a minor adjustment of the chair then back into switch control again it's a real pain. On iOS (mainly iPad) I use a single switch connected to a Patreon Bluetooth switch or housemate hub set to tap/short press, Home long press with in App menus switched on. In conjunction with this I switch on the voice control, which will amaze and frustrate you equal quantities. So far I haven't found anything I cannot do.
As far as driving the PC goes it's all a bit new but I have to do it now as there is r -net programming on the horizon. For this I use the iPad with one of the air keyboard Apps, but also in conjunction with the Windows 10 voice control using a decent microphone and soundcard this actually works quite well. You won't be surprised click and drag is a problem.
If you're into little projects I'm also currently rehousing a Bluetooth mouse so that I can operate the laser and scroll wheel with my chin. For the buttons I use normal mechanical something or other with a modified waste disposal air switch in parallel, in this way I can blow switch on whilst moving over the laser to click and drag. Total cost £15.
Mouse control, switch control and voice control can all be used at the same time, and indeed the other accessibility options.
I know this is a bit of a diversion from your original question some of it you may find provides a solution you could use.

Many thanks for your answers. The nudge functions will not work, because I have to click and hold the mouse for a certain amount of time to control a robotic arm hanged

In that case you need to revert to the old style bluetooth modules that had 2 switch inputs on. That's a downside to the omni Bluetooth.
