PL8 RIP

Postby expresso » 26 Nov 2020, 21:23

Ok its been almost a year now - every time i call them about the PL8 - its a story - they wanted to refund me - but i said its ok i wait - this is goin back to Feb. -

the longer this goes on - the more i feel they are not going to make the PL8 any more - -

BM - do you think we should start looking for the Next Charger we may all need to get in case they stop with the PL8 -

what would be the best choices if they stopped it now -

or do we go with there other chargers - and try to get those working correctly for us ?

what will we do ? i have a few but still - maybe we should start looking to find a solution with another charger just in case ?

lets say - you didnt have any extra and you need to get a charger now to charge our large packs - what will you do ?

I dont know. Likely try and find a replacement. But I know how hard that is. Everything I look at in the past had no PC capability, or stupid charge algos, capacity limitations, or something bad.

Banggood has taken the 6th of December off now.

So they could be out on the 6th or when ever.

Next week will be a year with out new stock.

But its been rather an unusual year. And many businesses are being very careful too because of it. Or struggling to even get by, or to put in big orders. There is absolutely shit loads of hobby stuff been out of stock for over a year. Dont worry it will be back. Theres many like us waiting. $$$

I have a question. When you want a new chair in spain. What happens? Is there a way to get funding or part funding? Or does the end user pay? Who assesses you if you dont know what you need or dont understand chairs? And is this the same acros the EU?

In theory every 5 years the doctors have to prescribe a new chair, but...
...in Spain no new chairs are prescribed.
No money.
The doctor suggests that you repair the old powerchair.
My powerchair is 20 years old.
There is only money to renew the batteries.

Socialism stuff.

In Spain those who are born sick (like me) only aspire to vegetate.
We are only a burden that hinders.
You have the privilege of being born healthy and sick in the UK.

Do you need any specific seating options?
I mean angles, widths, depths, or any tilt/recline, etc??

What do you weigh?
Any programming things important?

So you are easy.

Would something like this be what you would need?

Those go for around 1k on ebay new. Or almost.

Slow 6kph, 2 pole, and a weedy controller. Basically a modern version of what you have now. 55Ah batts.

Would you be interested if they said they can? May not does not mean they wont. This is the company that I bought my chair from.

They accepted a lower bid, 350 less, and added a centre power footrest, which is not cheap. So they may accept a bid and ship to spain without greater cost.

Email them and ask.

I take note, but shipping to Spain is expensive.
The box is large and heavy.
