There is a HAND HELD programmer that does not need a PC. It doubles as a dealer programmer (so pretty restricted) and can store a few settings files for various chairs. It basically does the same as a DEALER PC software and dongle. It also does VR2 should anyone on here be interested in that.

There is a PC DEALER version for a PC based system, with a DEALER dongle. It does the same as the HAND HELD one above, but allows a bigger screen with better layout and maybe a few more options, easier to setout and configure everything graphically. And easy to update! Just ask ME for the newest version.

There is a PC OEM version too that uses a OEM software, an OEM dongle and allows adjustment of all the complex stuff too, e.g motor compensation etc, unlike the ones above. And so is the best option.

Doesn't the DTTR-NET/VR2 PROGRAMMER use the same dongle files modified with the pc program?

It can natively do dealer. It can loadup, and store OEM modified files and can deploy those to a chair.

Its exactly the same as a Dealer PC version built into a hand held box so ou dont need a laptop. It contains a version of the dealer software specific to it. And it functions as a dealer dongle too. Its the same as OBP as far as programming is concerned. For non production line work, a laptop dealer dongle or OEM version is more useful.

The memory in the controler? The memory in the Pogrammer? The memory in the PC?

The handhelp programmer probably needs a more modern firmware/software. And thats one reason that they are pretty much a waste of time.

Just use your dealer dongle with the OEM software.

The DTTR-NET/VR2 PROGRAMMER is meant for use by an OEM in a production line envoiroment to put the right variations of programming on each chair depending on the purchase options. Its not what you want/need. In your case it doesent understand the programming options in the newer sunrise programming.

I have no dongle to change settings on the control unit
I use the DTTR-NET/VR2 PROGRAMMER, but this does not just change one setting, but the entire controller firmaware
by doing this several times, can't the memory of the control unit be broken?

No.
And you are also wrong.

The chairs firmware is permanant and can only be changed by the manufacturer. And comes in many variants and versions.
This applies seperately to modules, like a lighting or power module and joysticks etc.

The file that the handhelp programmer or PC software changes is jus a simple list of "settings"... This tells the various firmware what to do. It tells the firmware what settings you chose. The settings file lives in the power module.

Theres also various menus that live on devices. Like the joystick or the Omni.

And no you cant break the memory. You could possibly wear it out if you were to rewrite it say many thousands of times... Just like a USB stick or SSD.

If your programmer has old firmware it may not understand various feilds and settings. Depending on your chair, what you change etc. Thats why we always download the latest OEM version of the software.

I upload the file with the modified settings with the PC to the handhelp and have it written to the controller.
what does the programmer firmware have to do with it?

That device software in the device that you look at is really its firmware. It doesent just send the file to the chair it reads it. Then it can actually adjust various parameters too. At least dealer ones. But that firmware/software on the hand held device must know about any new additions or things like say the switch-it controls (buttons). Or a newer firmware that understands the various options on the newer CJSM2 joysticks. And it will not understand things like the permobil only settings on their own CJSM2 look alike. The PJSM. Unless it was made or has had updates since these things were introduced.

Your chair has a few sunrise options that dont exist on other chairs. Does it understand those? Not unless its a sunrise specifit hand held or one thats got newish firmware/software.

I'm interested in the fact that it writes the PC programme file on the chair's control unit

But does it do that without reading it? Then resending to target?
If so why are you seeing a memory error?
