Dynamics DX2-rem420 Help

Postby maker102 » 11 Mar 2023, 20:22

OK I really feel dumb asking this question. Is it possible to change the boot on a Dynamic Controls DX2-REM420 joystick? Every joystick I have ever messed with started with removing the knob, not this one it seams like it's glued on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Carl

Most just twist and pull... But if that doesent work. All you can do is try warming it up some.

I agree w/ BM... It should pull off with sufficient force... If glued, heat can help, but you don't want to cook the pod - I haven't tried it, but I'd be inclined to flip the pod upside down and submerge just the knob in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes to soften any glue...

Another option if you can push the boot down a little would be to grab the shaft w/ a pair of locking needlenose pliers and then apply more force w/ a second pair of locking pliers on the knob....

Last option is the destructive approach, get on the knob w a slitting saw in a Dremel and then split it w/ a screwdriver...
