Joystick replacement

Postby wheelchairer » 22 Mar 2023, 13:55

I have an imitation BM with R-net, with a reclining backrest, and hoping to have automated footrest soon. Is there any reason why this joystick is inappropriate?

It looks like its been through a war or maybe two. And its not a R-Net joystick. Its a permobil one, with a smaller darker screen, and 2 buttons that I use all the time missing. So not sure how that interferes with its operation. Also it doesent have normal R-Net firmware and uses permobils version. So it might or might not give what you expect. I wouldnt want it if it were me.

See what comes up, be patient. Maybe ask rover on here.

These all look in good condition and are genuine R-Net ones.

I wonder what needs to be done to get the Joystick to this state...

If you really use a chair hard it just happens no matter how careful you try to be.

Look at one of my "used" ones...

The powerchair is my legs, not a bumper car.
I'm careful.

I am too. But when doing work, cleaning driveway, making things, gardens, pressure washing, cutting and painting, using powertools, wear and tear happens.

There are those hat sit in a chair and watch TV all day, and there are those that are out doing stuff, getting stuck, flying planes on a winter airfild, walking dogs, in the pub, in town, on the beach, regardless of weather or corrosion from salt etc.
