D.I.Y DWIZ-ADAPT pcb

Postby ADI8421 » 25 Nov 2023, 07:26

Hi All,
I joined this fabulous site just a day ago. I've managed to build a DWIZ-ADAPT pcb from schematics found on this site and with the right Wizard software was able to re-program my Rhino 2 controller.

I've attached a pic just to encourage others to give it go.

Cheers Jim

Is that hardware valid for reprogramming some other controler?
Is Rhino 2 very old?

No and yes. At least all modern stuff needs something different.

Currently available systems are all basically locked down, and so only dealer level access is possible except r-net. Which remains as probably the best current system that can be reprogrammed by you or me properly. And you can buy a dongle at around 250 beer tokens to allow that. So unless you just dont care r-net is the only game in town. At least for powerchairs. Scooters I dont know much about. Which is what the original poster is talking about. But they dont have much to actually pogram compared to the complexities of control wih a tank steered device..

Hi Martin,

It will program all the various Dynamic Rhino 2 mobility scooter controllers.
Just a quick count gave about 95 different parameters that could be changed and written back to the controller.
Rhino 2 is still current.
Cheers Jim

As I say I dont know much about scooters. But I think its still used.

Also regards complexity on modern rehab powerchairs. I just counted up to 1015 options and adjustments on R-Net and I am just over half way down the menu. At the "seating module" section. So theres between 1500 and 2000 different parameters to set on this R-Net (sunrise version) and that doesent include probably as many again in the infra red setting program... And no wont be counting them all! I gave up counting at this point! Lifes too short.

Its a whole different level. Scooters only really have one channel and backwards and forwards to worry about. With rehab powerchairs its a whole different level of complexity, and so they have had to develop newer systems over the years to cope with all the options as well as the added complexity of the actual tank steer motor algo. This isnt used on normal scooters however. They do make a special single channel version however for things like the servo steered myra chairs.
