This prompted me to go looking for the serial number on my F3 and it was not visible through the wheel. It was to the rear of the motor (brake end) on a sticker attached to the main frame/battery box. I had to remove the plastic panel and the brake cover before it was visible. The sticker is in the same position on the M3 but is visible through the wheel. I guess that makes sense since they use the same modular frame/battery box but different suspension arm/motor mounts which put the drive wheels in different positions.

I did. Just didn't have a USB cable at the time.

Thank you very much slomibile that is the correct place for the number on the f3 and f5 but in my case it is not there, there is another sticker with a number but it is not the frame number.

I have tried to upload a photo but it won't let me
