Permobil joystick LCD screen

I have an old Permobil joystick with colour LCD. While trying to replace the cable, the actual screen part fell out. It has a small FPC type cable and there is what looks like a receptacle for it. Does anyone know if it just slots in or if there might be a missing piece of plastic which holds it in place?

The little plastic white/bone coloured bit lifts up. Lift it, replace the cable end, clip it shut. There are hundreds of the things inside laptops, that are way smaller and more fiddly than that one. And they can be taken apart and reassembled quite easily once you get used to doing them. Having rebuilt dozens of dell laptops...

Thanks, will give it a try. But I've realised I can't find the little metal clip that holds the moulded plastic end of the cable, so now it will take some digging around to find that.

Also a previous attempt broke the yellow wire from the pin, but that's just for inhibit, so I guess the cable should still work.

Found the clip but can't seem to get it to go into the groove in the preformed plastic. I'm not sure if it's different from the original cable, or if it just takes a lot of force to push the preformed plastic into the hole enough so the groove is far enough in to allow the metal clip to slide into position.
