If the batteries will physically fit, and are deep cycle then yes they will work. Any Group 24 or 34 sized battery will physically fit and work. But remember that cheap batteries are seldom a good idea. MK group 24 73Ah Gel or Sonneschien A500 56Ah Gel (Stock) are the only two Gel batteries I would consider. Gel batteries if very high quality, (like MK and Sonnenschien) can offer better cycle life than AGM type batteries.

But many AGMs offer more instant Amp delivery capability. Or more "power" when you need it.
Amp hour while important, isnt the be all and end all.
In a powerchair a lower amp hour battery that has better high current delivery capability (such as a good AGM battery) will still allow more range even if smaller. Because its power is more "accessible" when somewhat discharged.

And I would only use GEL batteries if its still using the old 80 amp controller with mild programming. And the old 2 pole motors. And if cycle life is more important to you that faster charging and better performance on ramps etc.

No footrests though. They are cut off and disposed of... The swing away pod mounting you have is a sad wobbly inadequate thing with one rivet through it. You need to iorder the ALTERNATIVE "parallel" swing away. It is well engineered, strong, and about 3x more expensive than it should be...

Please forgive me for correcting you but the brand name ist actually "Sonnenschein" (= The german word for sun light). Apparently they belong to "Exide GmbH" (http://www.exide.de/data/flash.htm)
