They must be connected to 24v AND the pod must be TURNED ON.

i agree for the charging port for programming but the yellow wire connected to the rx/tx port on XLR side goes nowere on the PCB see the picture it seem the controller as been modified by the previous owner

for the 24v i powering the controller with 12v it's one of y mistakes

12v maybe fine.

The brain is inside the control module and the joystick pod is dumb.

The yellow INHIBIT / Programming wire doesn't connect inside the pod ...it connects inside the control module.

Yup ...The brain is inside the control module ...the joystick pod is just a dumb control box.

EDIT :- DYNAMIC control systems have ...as I recall.... a brain in both the pod and the control module.

I haven't played with a VR2 with the extra functions.... mine has just 3 wires ( 3 pin plug and socket ) POS /Red , NEG( GND )/Black and a White signal wire plugged to the board.

My Yellow goes to the XLR pin 3.

Your not making any sense to me.

The YELLOW is the programming/inhibit lead ... it goes to pin 3 of the charging socket.

You need GND and the YELLOW for programming and everything turned ON.

On your pic you say ...
Here is my pod
..NO that is the control module.

Your 4 pin plug goes to your joystick pod.

The only type that I have seen has just 3 pins.

Sadly I cannot help any further other than recommending a specific FTDI lead.

Hi all.

I've just got my hands on a power scooter that I wish to clean up and give to my parents, the only problem is it has been programmed for the previous owner to travel at less then walking pace.

Thanks to this forum, I've been able to make the cable, which I have tested with the service version of the software and can read the S-Drive controller with no issues.

The question I have, and I hate doing this with my first post, but has anyone got a working link to a version of the software that will allow me to make changes?

Thanks in advance, Dave.

Have you looked in Windows Device manager.?

Has the FTDI driver installed correctly?.

Did you know that the COM Port number assigned by Windows to the lead MUST be between 1 & 8 inclusive as the programming software will ONLY work with those COM Port numbers.

Did YOU tell the software which COM Port number to use? ... the software will not find it for you.

Hi nSRaiden when u say u had to open your controller and solder a wire, what do I mean by this ?

I am having trouble with connecting to my s drive 200a as it does not seem to connect to the controller although the software recognises the cable and tries to send data.
would be good to know what you ment by soldering a wire in the controller.

thanks
