Ok thanks again, just one more quick question while I'm on here then I'll move over to that thread.... Will the Kenwood style cable not work with this controller then, I need to use the style you describe on that other thread?

The Kenwood is for PGDT ..so unfortunately it is superfluous.

Just a quick note on the programming protocol for your chair ..... I'm unsure if it is CANBUS communication for programming or the much easier Serial type communication which is just RX and TX.
Perhaps one of the denizens here knows for sure.

Ok, thank you! If it's just serial that should be easy enough to test, just run the TX and RX and Ground lines out from a standard RS232 computer connector to the TX and RX and Ground pins on the chair and see if the software can communicate....

NO..the voltage of a puters serial port can be MUCH to high.

There is a pic of a really cheap RX TX setup in the Q logic thread using a CH340 USB - Serial adaptor

The standard specifies a maximum open-circuit voltage of 25 volts: signal levels of ±5 V, ±10 V, ±12 V, and ±15 V are all commonly seen depending on the voltages available to the line driver circuit. Some RS-232 driver chips have inbuilt circuitry to produce the required voltages from a 3 or 5 volt supply. RS-232 drivers and receivers must be able to withstand indefinite short circuit to ground or to any voltage level up to ±25 volts. The slew rate, or how fast the signal changes between levels, is also controlled.

Because the voltage levels are higher than logic levels typically used by integrated circuits, special intervening driver circuits are required to translate logic levels. These also protect the device's internal circuitry from short circuits or transients that may appear on the RS-232 interface, and provide sufficient current to comply with the slew rate requirements for data transmission.

Awesome, it looks like the controller I have, which is the NE System, is the same as the Curtis Enable 40 system.
According to a post by Gologen on Sun Sep 29, 2013 11:32 am on that Q LOGIC PROGRAMMING INTERFACE thread you linked to, the NE System is the same as the Curtis Enable 40 which uses standard serial communication.

Postby erreipnaej » 12 Apr 2014, 16:43

Hello everybody,
I discover this board and read many threads regarding the PGDT VR2 electronic.
I'm using a PP1 programming device (handheld programmer) for a OttoBock A200 but I use now a OttoBock B400 and this PP1 doesn't permit me to access to all settings.
I've got the PGDT software from this link http://support.pgdt.com/Remote-Service- ... mmers.aspx, but I can't access to the settings.
I'm just able to print them.
Is there somebody who can tell me wher I can get an OEM version of this software.
Thanks for your help.
Regards

Hello ,

I just got the cable which woody Sent to Me

Plugged it into Windows 7 64-bit and Windows selected Com 8 And the prolific 3.4 .62 driver With the automatic update.

Went into the PGDt Mobility service programmer 14.4.3And selected com 8 as well. Coms inactive.

Plugged into wheelchair and turned the power on. COMS ACTIVE !! And recognise my controller as VR2. That was a lot easier than expected. Many thanks!

I'm looking for the OEM level Programmer 8.0.16.

Thanks and Have a good weekend

Hi! Just joined this forum.. Been in a wheelchair for almost 11 years, but just a week ago I bought my first mobility scooter..

I have an Egis controller on board my Sunrise Onyx 8mph scooter, but I need to "crank it up" a bit, especially the first acceleration phase which is awfully slow..
I've read up on the programming and the USB/Molex scooter lead in thread, but struggling to find the software " Mobility PC Programmer"

The question to you guys, have anyone got a "copy" to spare?.. A link or an .exe file perhaps?..

I can't stress enough how happy I would be to get some help in this matter.. /Mikael
