Further to my question about the caps and theie orientation, I think that if a polarised capacitor is used for C1 its +ve must go to ground.
A negative voltage is taken from the Tx terminal (Rx) and stored in C1. The -ve is used for sending RS232 high from Rx rerminal (Tx).
This is a way of level matching the return -ve voltage to the received one irrespective of what shifting and combination is done by the rest of the adaptor before it goes to remote.
I think I should invert C1 before my RS3232 arrives, do you agree?
Glenn

The ground end of c1 should be +ve. C1 and the diode create a TX driven charge pump to provide a -ve reference for the RX circuitry.

I came to the same conclusion after studying various circuits.
Thanks for the response.

Hello again,

I've installed Wizard 5 as described by Burgerman.
I don't get Asked for any Password and I can change the user mode (Service etc.).

Then I connected a RS232 to usb converter from the programming Plug to the PC, didn't work out.
Tried it with a CH340, didn't work as well.
With a CP210x it neither worked.

Did I miss something out? :problem:

By the way: I've got a G50 with a DX. Remote has directly got programming port in it, like woody posted somewhere here.

If I send anything to the programming port via a Arduino @ 38400 Baud with SoftwareSerial, I get this answer from Joystick: 1202481281202480 o.O
@ 19200 I get 1020

The 5 pin Hirose port communicates via RS232 SERIAL as opposed to TTL SERIAL.

https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/215

Any QUALITY RS232 SERIAL cable ( e.g. one that uses a FTDI Chipset ) should work fine.

All Arduino boards have at least one serial port (also known as a UART or USART), ... Serial communication on pins TX/RX uses TTL logic levels (5V or 3.3V ...

You need RS232 Serial.

Hello everyone ,new member here, hope everyone is doing well, so my neighbor got a mobility scooter which has the rhino dynamic 70 amp controller(ctldc1343/ DS72KSP02) im willing to help him out programming it to his special needs, so i was wondering if you guys would help me get the proper software which i believe needs to be a oem version in order to read and write and making the proper usb cable to plug it to the laptop.

You need a RS232 ( DB9 )-USB Cable ...I prefer any that uses a FTDI Chip set.

Thank you woody for the fast reply and for the pm! ,so what i understand is that i just need this usb rs232 cable connecting just those 3 pins tx dx and gnd to the controller and it will read on the laptop? No special dongles or anything?

Also i was wondering if i connect everything i just have to turn on the scooter with the key right? not adding any other power wire to the programming connector like pg drives do. Would these boards im gunna attach might work instead of this cable by any chance, because i already i have them

Dynamic systems normally require a dongle for programming, but there's a workaround that can get you into an OEM-plus mode without one. When you're ready to go, ask here and someone will PM you with the information you'd need. The software itself is downloadable from the Dynamic web site.

As Irving say's ... yes it should.

Just remember that the connection convention is TX of one board goes to the RX of the other .

Your going to confuse things by posting your Solo question in this Dwiz Adapt thread.

I will move/copy your question to where you had previously posted it.
