I've had a knock off GoPro for about a year now just laying around. Barely used it. I need to figure out a way to attach it to my chair.

I was out west last month, spent some days in Grand Teton National Park. Third time I've visited the area and it never disappoints. Videoed this young female moose with my mobile on a trail of a creek that feeds the Snake River. The Tetons themselves were covered in a viel of haze this year caused by all the wild fires in California and Oregon.

Yes very nice area - peaceful with nature - i would not mind enjoying the outdoors there - if i lived there - there is not other chair other than the V6 or bounder that would work outdoors there in the woods etc,

my 646 and P222 wont hold up in the real outdoors -

http://www.njpalisades.org/alpineBasin.html

this is where i been going with the 646 and soon the bounder - will be testing it there - i made some friends out there - and usually visit them a few times a year - this year only once before my motors died - i hope to make a trip next week once i get them replace and if weather permits - if i get the bounder - maybe i try it this year there - - its a 36 mile trip round trip more or less -

i am curious to see how much i can get out of the bounder 100ah lithium - they claim 55 Miles - i be happy with 40 to 45 miles - hard for me to know

but i will connect it to the PL 8 to monitor the charge while charing with there plug and play 10A lithium charger - not sure what i can learn from monitoring it with the Pl 8 - ?

i wont be able to see the cells volts etc, - just the pack volts and end of charge etc. i think - i like the outdoors mountains - with the V6 chair and lithium with Rnet - adjust some settings and 25V to the motors - i think you can get a good 7 to 7.5 mph - thats not bad for a outdoor in the woods chair -

i been using my 222 chair - for most of this summer and got used to the speed about 8 to 8.5 - felt slow at first but not its snappy and quick - its a good speed for the inner city - its only when i get out there in open clear roads - no cars or people - long stretches - thats where it feels slow and thats where the bounder will shine flat out full speed - will cut my trip time about a Hour total - maybe even more - well see -

i hope to try it at least once before the winter if i get this chair this month -

nice video - -

So you're getting a Bounder with Lithium paid for by the system?

He is. Albeit limited to 100Ah. Where 180Ah or 176Ah will now fit doing it properly yourself, since things have moved on.

But its still almost 2x as good as lead grp24 bricks.

That 55 mile does not mention which SPEED (gearing) was used.
If you use 6mph gearing it will go a lot further than 8 or faster gearing. Even if you actually still go at 6mph. If you go faster, it gets worse.

55m with 6mph gearing means about half that with 12mph gearing.

PL8 will just show the same as charging lead. And may need you to se the lead preset.

Yes wasnt easy and alot of factors involved - took me a year - but its done - it may be one of my last group 4 chairs paid though - so i took it while it lasted - But now anyone can get it also - 300M - is a group 3 chair and is Medicare billable now - so its another option choice of chair anyone can demo and decide for themselves

you may not get the lithium covered though - but you can pay out of pocket anything you may want thats not covered - if i had to pay for the lithiums at retail costs - of course i would just make it myself and would be larger pack - but i didnt have to pay anything out of pocket - so not complaining -

i plan to add an ADD ON to it - if i can manage that which dosnt seem too hard to get a 24V tap from what i can see - if i am correct on what i need to do - then i will and looking at 80ah cells - if i find the correct size -

when i finally get it and try it - you can let me know how to set the PL 8 and see what it shows - i got that Y adapter XLR - so can connect both charger and my XLR to the PL 8 -

i will have to test this range somehow - may have to use my phone GPS to get an idea more or less - i know if i go where i normally go and dont do much else - - a round trip is about 36 Miles give or take - will be keeping an eye on the JS battery Meter - which wont be accurate - will show numbers 10 being full and 1 i guess dead - will be carrying the charger just in case :)

Heres th problem. How will you know if its say 50 or 90% empty?
You have no idea what the state of individual cells are, and its got a BMS... Which will pull the plug if it sees 1 cell is lower than the rest! Regardless of battery meter. And you stop dead. Very suddenly and unexpectedly... You are about to learn the joys of randomness and BMS!

And just because it doesent do that for a week, or 3 months, doesent mean it wont! Because you never knew how close each group came to being below the BMS cut off point or how many Ah was returned, or how low the worst cell got. etc.

:o

You NEED a way to monitor both actual Ah that was returned to get some idea of what was used. And you need a way of monitoring cells as this is not your carefully choosen Headway pack, this is like your 60Ah addon. And when one cell goes lower, like your cell 3?, your BMS stops the chair totally. Suddenly.

thats true - i really wont know - but i am not worried - i think it be fine - i dont think the BMS will cut off - its been in use for past 6 years and original packs are still in use today - it has a different setting for lithium battery - for the JS - what that means or if it does something different to tell me more or less how much is left

i dont know - i will have to use it and get used to it like everything else - your learn more or less - i can carry a volt meter also - just to know volts - once i add an 80ah ADD ON - wont need to worry anyway - more than enough to never get low enough to worry - i been good this way with 135ah - which is now 150ah on my 646 chair -

longest range i did was 44 Miles with 105ah alone and since then its been 135ah till now its 150ah - - we see once i start using it - my goal is to find a 80ah cell correct size etc, - if at worse case i cant - the least i would do is an 60ah ADD ON - but shooting for more 75ah to 80ah - or even 90ah if it fits - why not :)

The battery meter only sees total voltage. It cant know if one cell is low, and the BMS will then trip (stop you dead) when it sees that. Say as you are getting on a bus or in the middle of a road junction! what marvelous random fun!

we shall see - i dont think it will be a problem - i am not too concerned - its not like they started yesterday - they have good results - i believe them - and will find out first hand soon -

like it or not - this is how any chair manufacturer will do if they ever do lithium - it will always be a BMS in the system - they would be smart to follow what ever bounder is doing since they been doing it for past 6 years

I doubt they sold 50. And of those 50 most will never go more than 3 miles. You are their first actual serious user most likely.

If I got a Bounder, the first thing I'd do is get rid of the BMS! I'd rather use the PL8 to make sure the cells are properly looked after. BMS :fencing :cussing :hammer

that could be true - on both those points - in that Case i am the test subject - i will be doing that 36 mile ride for sure - not sure if i get a chance to do it this year - i may just test the waters slowly till i get used to it - - and keep an eye on the volts - will carry the charger also - -

if i dont get a chance to test it this year - then by next summer - i should have the ADD ON connected to it also - so in that case i wont be worried about range

i still think it be fine at 100ah - i was told it was real life tested in use outside to get that 55 mile range - riding around - on my 646 chair i recall using about 90ah for the 36 mile trip - if i recall correctly - in that area -

i left a good review - -soley on the customer service so far - they been great and i still ask a question email etc, once i get the chair i will be calling to learn to use there programmer - before i get familiar with it enough

its the best i can do and better than nothing at all :) programmer that is - i am not worried about it much - if anything i will have to Tone it down - stock settings are aggressive -

Hope you are well wrapped up. Weather hasn't been nice this week for going anywhere.

It seemed as though you were almost at the war memorial and then got a bit lost?
