I always leave the banana plugs and balance plug connected to the PL8 SM, that way no shorts can happen.

I use a dab of Goop on bananas, balance and serial connectors so they CAN'T be accidentally disconnected.

IF you are using the correct banana plugs, the only ones that work safely and dont melt, you cant get sparks. They are intrinsically safe, shielded ends. Thats why you are recommended these with a PL8 and why you should use them.

Unless you actualy plug one onto the rear of the other! But then your 40A fuse will blow. There should be one in the neg, and the pos cable.

Average walking speed is 3.8 mph. So if someone walked it would have taken half as long.
Its literally traveled at the same speed as a decent tortoise.

Or some 135 times slower than TNT overnight delivery.

Got 2 very nice, nearly brand new, PL8 this week.

Tested to ensure they are free from incorrect voltages of the 8 balance pipelines. I've came across 5 units which had the problem, so a proper one is scarce.

Another one.

Charged the same battery a bit, so voltage is not the same.

We've never done such on the charger itself. Don't laugh .

Found a NOS and want the seller to show me the voltages. He don't know how as he's never used it and don't have the FUIM3.

NOS?

The number of digits may require that you have one of the registry hacks on a PC in order to change it.
2 options.

a)Averaged data so it looks all neat and only a couple of decimal places. Makes pretty graphs and unless something is actually wrong its stays this way but its not real! All good for a typical hobbyist without alarming him for no good reason.

b) an extra decimal place 4 decimal digits. And no data averaging so it shown reality. And also shows the caibration differences between cells. Or charger innacuracies too. Usually you would never see this as most people dont have the registry hack that allows it. And I dont think it can be changed on the charger.

No.

It has factory default value @ 2 place of decimal , as he never used it.

I am telling him how to test and show me that his charger doesn't have irregularities in reading voltages .

If it is fine , I am buying it. Someone here wants PL8.

I've seen a few units that were not right .

Hey, there’s our workbench. Thank you Shirley! Everything arrived quickly and beautifully wrapped. You have been so very helpful and we really appreciate it! We are waiting for a few more supplies to come in and we will begin our journey of building our first set of batteries…..and then the questions may come pouring in.

Here’s the first, what is the maximum current/Amps output for the ZXD 2400?

Thank you! :D

And I use it at 50A (actually reads 49.xx) all the time when charging lead. Works fine!

But like most industrial stuff its a bit louder than a mobility charger. But when you consider that its 50A and not 5 or 8 its not a surprise! Its over 6x more powerful. 50A@28.8V= 1440 watts. And because 90% efficient it needs to lose 10% of that as heat. 144watts?

And remember it can do this at 60V and so 3000 watts... So would need to lose 300 watts of heat in that case!

The 5V is taken from usb , rated 100mA for external load.

Try joining RX and TX of the MZ-RS24T = White of existing PL8 plug

GND of MZ-RS24T = Black of existing PL8 plug

DO NOT CONNECT RED of PL8 OR 5V of the MZ-RS24T:

Another possibility with the addition of a schottky diode.
