They're too pricey for me, $65.00 for one! No way I'm paying that kind of money. I did a lot of searching and these size tires in black seem to be non existent.

i agree - the cost is too much - i wouldnt pay that either - i just put it out there - - either the Kenda - or the other one street trend -

unless of course - you can fit a 300-4 tire on your chair - - if you have the fixed forks - larger ones - the same rim and fork will fit a 300-4 tire - Kenda makes a nice one also -

i tired it already - BUT in my case - it hit my foot plates on ONE Chair - on the 646 - i havnt tried it - - but it would clear my foot plates on the 646 - but i think it will hit the motor - since its close now to the motor -

since you have the older style motors - would that make a difference ? maybe they fit your chair ? i may be tempted to buy one and see again - i wish i did when i had the tire - but i wasnt focused on the 646 chair then - and didnt have the fixed forks on it either -

i will take a picture when i get a chance and post it - to show how much room i have now with the 280 tire on it - it may just make it - like my rear tires - so very very close -

Sorry, Expresso, you lost me on that post. But if you're referring to the 300 tires hitting the motors, I can tell you that they won't because one of the 646 chairs I'm building is fitted with those. I think they are about 10" in diameter. But no doubt they will hit the stock footplates; my 646 with the 2.80/2.50 rub my heals when I got in reverse. It's not enough to be a problem though.

yes a 300-4 size tire - i tried it on my P222 chair it hit my foot plates - wasnt able to use them

but i never tired them on the 646 i have - i dont have the tire now to try - but looking how my foot plates are on the 646 - it would clear them fine

but dont think it would clear the motor - looking how the 280 tire is close already - i cant see how the 300 would clear it being its larger

if you can fit 300-4 size tire on your chair - you have more options and i would try that size -

http://www.scooterpart.net/product_info ... ts_id=2837

http://www.partsforscooters.com/154-104_Kenda_Tire

i tired the last link tire - and had to return them - they seem huge and it was a nice grip for sure - but never tired to check it on the 646 - wish i had -

if you have a tire on hand 300-4 - can you measure it for me - the whole tire - maybe compare it to the 280 tire if you have there also -

side by side etc, -

Ok thanks - i would say 10 to be sure - i know it fits the fork - works fine there - its the chair it will go on that will make the difference - i will measure the distance from the tire to the motor - and take a few pictures to post of it -

i wont touch it now - if it looks do able - i am curious if it will work for real - i may just try it in the winter time so not to waste time now - and i be ready to just return it and cost me shipping - thats the cost to know for sure

i did like the Kenda Tire i tried the first time but it was huge compared to the 280 tire -

do you think different model tires - same size 300-4 would be all the same at 9.7 ? or could some be larger than others ?

the 4 links i posted above have 4 different tires - i liked the last one Kenda - street trend - which is the one i had to return - i wonder if the other style Rib style may be a bit smaller overall ? i want to try a tire that would give me the best chance of working - i have some time to decide before i try it again

http://enableyourlife.com/10-x-3-260-x- ... b-tire.asp

i wonder if this one would give me a better shot of fitting Vs this one which i had before -

3.00-4 is 3.00-4! Although I can't see how having a different treaded tyre would make it fit? :? Unless I'm missing something obvious!

Yes they can - some tires may have more Meat on them - giving it a bit more overall size - they may be close either way - but in my case i have very very little room to play with - it can mean the difference between one tire working and another not working -

i have a original grey rib tire 280 size and the kenda tire i am using 280 - they are not %100 the same size - close but different - we may be talking about very little difference - one tire may have more meat to it - thats it - but that can make the difference also -

when i get a chance to take a picture to show the space i have to work with - and will try to measure the distance from tire to motor -

at least thats how i feel - i remember the kenda i tried last time and that was thick - meaty i would say compared to this one which looks like the one your using now

http://www.scooterpart.net/product_info ... ts_id=2837

i liked the kenda - was aggressive looking grippy - but wonder if the smoother ones may be a better choice if less meaty and thickness - it may just work - but i could be wrong also - haha :D

Expresso, I took a look at the 646 I'm building with those Kenda 300 tires and can tell you there's at least an inch of clearance between the tire/motor. The forks are the ridged type with the two axle holes. One of these days I'll post some pics, I've been slacking lately.

Ok i love to see the pics - i know you have the older style motors - but same 646 frame so not sure if that matters - i have the fixed forks also with two holes for the caster forks -

which hole is your caster in the front ? lower hole or top hole ?

i do want to try it now - but will wait till the winter - everything is working now - dont want to mess with it unless i have to - mines seems close - i still have to measure and take a few more pics - different angles

one pic so far - seems maybe - i planned to move the caster wheel to the higher hole on the fork also -

not sure if that helps with space if using a 300-4 tire or makes it worse -

thats the Kenda Tire you been wanting

Tire size numbers are pretty much nominal... the numbers that specify the rim diameter are not going to change, but the rest of the tire may be bigger or smaller than the nominal specified size - depends on the manufacturer to start with, and then is also impacted by the width of the rim used, slightly by inflation pressure and so on...

Usually the difference isn't enough to matter, but it can if only replacing one tire of a pair (why replacing in pairs is almost always a good idea) or if dealing with a very tight fit, in which case some tires might fit, and some might not....

SOME manufacturers will list 'inflated size' values, but take those with a grain of salt, as they aren't always consistent in how they measure (i.e. rim size used)

Well, I found a source for those K473 Kenda's here: https://www.scootersparts.net/index.php?main_page=index

Good price and reasonable shipping too, $12.00 per tire and $8.00 shipping, total came to $32.00 and a little change.

I assume that a 2.80x4 tube will work in a 3.00x4 tire?

Yes. But its best to have a 300 x 4 tube as a stretched tube opens up if punctured. A non stretched one is more likely to stay sealed with puncture sealer gunge...

So, that didn't work out. Their website listed 26 units in stock but they didn't have them. I ordered the ones expresso listed:

http://www.electricscooterparts.com/tir ... .80-2.50-4

I can't believe that these are the only black tires that are available in the 2.80/2.50 size!

The Michelin tube comes in a 2.8 size or a 3.5/4 siz, which I assumed is too big for a 3.00x4 tire?
