http://www.electricscooterparts.com/tir ... .80-2.50-4

these two are the only ones i can find in this size black - i am using the all terrain trend kind now - not bad nice little tire - but i ordered the street trend - i think they may roll easier - will arrive this week Sat. - i can post you a picture

if you find any others in this size in black - let me know - i wouldn't mind the original Rib style either - just cant find them in black

Thanks Expresso. I'm probably going to go with those after I get your critique on them :D . I looked around pretty hard and found a set of Kenda's that I liked but they're out of stock. I've been waiting for three weeks now and haven't heard anything.

James - those kendas - i am almost 99% sure are the ones i have - they are nice - - its the same kenda on that site i linked too before

take a look - i am sure they are - i havnt found anything other than the kenda and now this street trend - i think the street trend might be better - more rounded less friction maybe turning -

i wasnt crazy about the kenda - but once i got them - they do look nice - meaty - - from the pictures seem more narrow than the street trend -

i should get them next week - will post you a picture then

Here's what I was trying to get. Can't beat the price, and the shipping rate. Too bad they're out of stock.

Thanks Expresso, the Kenda's seem to be out of stock everywhere except ebay, at inflated prices. I'm going to hold of until you give us a report on what you ordered.

rusty - i ordered the street version from same place

http://www.electricscooterparts.com/tir ... .80-2.50-4

this places shows both - they may have the kenda - try them

i wont get it till next week - but may not even use it just yet - will leave the kendas on for now - - unless i change my mind for some reason :D

been doing that lately - i post you a picture of the street tire when i get it - you will be using this on your 646 chair ?

how old is your 646 ? which motor do you have on it - newer ones of today ?

Those tires below the ones in that link you posted look like the Kenda's. They call them "all terrain."

I'm going to hold off buying anything until you give us a analysis of those street threads :geek:

I really don't know what year this particular 646 is, I bought it used, but it only had around 50 hours on it. I think it's around 10 years old. Has the Electrocraft, US made, 4 pole motors with the freewheel release linked to the rear of the chair. I believe the newer motors have the freewheel release on the motor and they're made in China? The chair isn't tagged as an SE, but when I had it apart the control module stated 100 amp, so I don't know what's up with that. The chair is fast though. I completely disassembled this chair, basically to clean it because I was embarrassed because it was getting so cruddy.

Ok - the older models of this chair - they made them in different speeds - some can be 7mph - some 8.5mph - you can check your serial number or check the motors if theres a label on them -

those all terrain ones are the KENDA ones - i have those now - its the same KENDA tire that are out of stock on the other sites -

How far over the GWB in NJ are you ? i been as far as ALPINE Boat Basin - exactly 20 miles from me - one way -

In my youth I made many trips to the city because my sister lived there, so I had a place to crash  But since I've become an oldster, I have no desire to go anymore, and the wheelchair doesn't help inspire me either.

rusty - here is the tire i just got today - seems strong - trend is street Vs the kenda All terrain - i wont be installing them for now - the kenda seems to have more meat on the trend - but maybe the street trend may roll smoother ? hard to say

unless the kenda tire i have now gives me trouble - wooble issue - i may just leave it for now and use it up a bit - too bad i couldnt use the larger 300-4 tire
that would have been nice but with my 646 - its too close to the motors -

i also got stronger leak guard tubes - aircraft - military strong - if it makes a difference who knows - cant hurt -

I know those titties down the center will be gone quick, but towards the sidewalls they won't. You might want to think about nipping them off before you install them on the chair. Unless you like a lot of titties

i wont be using them just yet - will keep using the kenda tire i have on for now - if i had to choose - i say the Kenda is more meaty on the trend than the smooth tire - but if the smooth tire lasts a long time also - if it wears good etc,- i think having the rounder edges can be helpful

the kenda is more stiffer on the edges it seems -

Last night, there were TWO identical forums for about 24 hours in fact.

Depending on how fast the change of nameserver address propagated across the world, you could have been posting in the OLD one in the UK, or the new one in Canada...

By now they will all be pointing to the correct Canada one. Unless you are in Italy! :o

I thought John was using tubeless tires on the front of his chairs? Isn't that what everyone wants to use now?

No. Because I cant find any. But on the front its no problem really, you can always get home if the chair isn't too nose heavy. Deflate one, or both, and test for your own re-assurement. Then you wont worry!

thats pretty much true - i have both my chair with tubes now - front and rear - i have some say my fronts are low on one chair etc, - but seem fine to me and if i add more air - its a harder ride - so i dont bother what they say or how they see the tire - i can ride it and dont feel any difference or need to add Air -

but some may ADD more Air - - so a low PSI front tire should be fine -

the one on your chair in the video ? - didnt think it would work - i am starting to feel a bit better now - with tubes - i was concerned at first - i am more at ease now and not worried as much - i done the 40 mile ride a few times already - i am leaning on now keeping the chair in its current state with the larger rears also - now i know more or less what it can and cannot do - so i adjust myself to it - not looking to do extra work if its not needed yet

i just have spare tires here - fronts and rear rubber stock black - extra rims and tubes - at least if anything changes shouldnt be too much downtime this way

still have a bit of wheel wooble at times - which i can sense and fix it quickly now - i take a bit slower on down hills - to avoid going off the road -
will try moving the caster wheel to higher slot on the fork - and see if that helps - and how much it affects how i sit -

got nice grip on all tires now -
