I like the way its fitted.I want to do something similar. I dont want a bunch of bracketry... But thats too short and too narrow for me and I dont want the side bits that hold you in place, just a tall shallow back. What bracketry do I look at? Theres too many options and no images! And likewise headrests. Same. And no pictures so you cant see what you are ordering. And not just that site.

https://www.wheelchairauthority.com/Inv ... -p/edb.htm
The backrests come with 8mm x 1 fine thread tapped holes in the invacare.
i then ordered 4 screws m8x1 fine cap screws to fit
2 alloy round solid bars right heights to suit 25mm o/d
turned down one end to match my fixings 40mm deep 20mm o/d.
then 4 saddle washers to fit 25mm o/d drilled out for 8mm screws.
Bolted together.
Painted Black.
Centres bolted to backrest worked out at 16inch centres for my chair.
You could use longer screws and spacers if wider centres on your Salsa.
You could bolt your headrest hardware to backrest shell.
All depends on what height and width you need john.

Brushless are super greedy, indoors or zero turning. About 190 to 200 battery amps. Measured. In place of about 20 to 30 with brushed.

And yest they are super efficient at constand speed outdoors. About 3x as good as brushed.

Compare specs, you will see.
Better CCA, better CA, better MCA, better reserve time, better impedance, better Ah, and similar cycle life. Only downside is more weight. And the fact that they are a tiny bit wider than grp34 actually allows at the top edge only.

OPTIMA Internal Resistance (fully charged): 2.8 mOhms
ODYSSEY Internal Resistance (fully charged): 2.5 mOhms Lower is better! (less volt drop under load and less peukert, and more of the Ah usable before the chair stops)
MK 73Ah gel Internal Resistance (fully charged): 4 mOhms almost twice as bad as the Odyssey. Dont use for sport or fast charge etc.

OPTIMA Capacity: 55 Ah (C/20)
ODYSSEY capacity: 68 Ah (C/20)
MK Gel capacity: 73.6Ah But because of impedance does not offer more range unless driven like my grandma!

OPTIMA Reserve Capacity: BCI: 120 minutes (25 amp discharge, 26.7°C, to 10.5 volts cut-off)
ODYSSEY Reserve Capacity: BCI: 135 minutes (25 amp discharge, 26.7°C, to 10.5 volts cut-off)
MK GEL Reserve Capacity: BCI: 138 minutes Quoted as 145 mins in some places incorrectly I think. (25 amp discharge, 26.7°C, to 10.5 volts cut-off) At higher rates the Odyssey wins.

Optima CCA (EN-18°C): 765 amps
Odyssey CCA (EN-18°C): 850 Amps And 1500A for 5 seconds.
MK gel CCA (EN-18°C): A MISERABLE 410 amps.

ALL other batteries are inferior. Some very much so. The most important figures?
1. Impedance
2. CCA
3. Reserve time.
4. Ah
5. Cycle life at 80% DOD.

The order of these depends on your use, and priorities. But the optima always comes last.
For max range, longest service life on a slower chair with no hills or sport - most users - MK Gel wins.
For faster charging, sport, fast chairs, hills, highly lively programming, heavyweight users, and less weight and height, Odyssey wins.

No I am on bed and out of money right now!

It will get either 176Ah, x8 or those 105Ah x 16 that shirley found and tested. So 210Ah.

This is a really nice build! It would be cool if you could mount an odometer on it to check the range. I bet it does good.

I've ordered rectangle shaped LiFePo4 cells from rj-lithium back in February. I think they spammed the forum for a bit a few weeks ago. I have no complaints.

They seem genuine enough but a little keen on dropping links on a dozen unrelated threads/posts. But I would not hesitate to use them.

Thanks Will
Will monitor the range when i get round to fitting a lithium pack in.
Need a charger power pack and all the leads before i build one though ;)

Hope everything works out for you on your latest build.
Looking very good so far :clap
