well in expectation of my new meyra optimus 2 rs arriving in next few weeks i have ordered the oem programmer tool from the site recommended above.

i hope as hell that it works as Australian imbecilic laws limit the speed at 10km/ph. The same model is software limited in Germany at 15km/ph. My old Optimus 2 went 20km/ph before current modifications. All I had to do was cut the wire supplying the wheel revolutions/speed to the controller. But this model used meyra's own and built CAN Bus controller. With rewinding my old optimus is at 26km/ph.

Hope is that I will reprogram the new model to do at least 15km and than I will be free to experiment with 48v and Roboteq on my old one.

and as a side comment good riddance to Permobil 300, probably the worst chair i ever owned.

Hey Sin.
Just curious; are the the Ausi cops pulling wheelchairs over for speeding?

no, of course not. in fact i doubt that majority of cops are even aware of this particular section of road traffic act but it is there and all wheelchair importers and technicians are aware

You could try PGDT in UK. It might be cheaper with postage etc.

We would all do that of course. But they wont sell. So we are forced to use other means.

I also need to reprogram my RNet chair. Could you give me a hint to where I can get the OEM tools?

Software is easy but dongle isn't without paying big money.

They are not selling it to me, as I am not a registred manufacturer / dealer. Is there another way?

Hey guys,

I'm in this situation... Tried everything I can think of...

I've had the dealer dongle for years, now trying to locate the OEM and software...

I'm getting so frustrated in my chair... I had my old chair going at 14-16km/phr,

Now only moving along at 10km/phr really sucks... No-one likes going back to the dark ages.

I'm in Aus... never had any complaints about driving above 10km/phr for over 20 years...

So any help to links for OEM dongle or software location would be much appreciated...

Peace Out...

With the dealer software/dongle, you can save the chairs settings file. Then with the OEM software you can open this file and RESAVE it. Then the next time you open it, you can also edit it, at the OEM level. And then resave it again.

Now you can use the dealer dongle to sent the edited file to the chair. So you can get around the OEM dongle problem, with a lot of messing about. So you just need the software. I can tell you where to get that, if you PM me. However, its quite likely your chair will not go faster. Most are limited by gearing,

Hi Gonzoid,

I am in Perth and have both the dongle and software. Unfortunately I fly out on Monday and will not be back until 1 September. If you are still stuck give me a shout then and we can try and speed you up.

Hello, I have a pride apex rapid and I am struggling to hold of any OEM software. It has a PG controller but they won’t even return my emails. Does anyone have a copy I can use to try speed it up at a little please. Any help or advise would be highly appreciated.

The Pride Apex Rapid is a mobility SCOOTER.
It probably has an S-Drive controller.

Yes. But its not always easy. I have one. Many on here do. One guy has 2! (Hello steve!).

I have seen them on eBay. I have seen them on here. Several have been bought on this forum. You CAN get them from PGDT direct if you also happen to know what you are doing, and they know that. Or if you take some course or other, or if you are building one off powerchairs or modifying stuff that needs this. Or ar in fact a manufacturer.

But you dont need one. You can if you know how do everything with a dealer one. And those can be bought from most places that you can buy a rehab style chair from.

Or on here, ebay etc.

Yep, I do have two OEM dongles. Also have two older XLR cables for programming the Pilot+ system as I like to have spare backups of most cables/electronic stuff.

At £832.75 it's a rip-off! Especially when they're half that direct from Curtiss-Wright. My last OEM kit cost me £250 because it wasn't "new" as claimed, so complained and got it for half price! Not from C-W though.

EIGHT HUNDRED PLUS?
Rediculous.

If you are not doing this all day at work, a used cheapo dealer one and some free and easy to download OEM software allows the same thing albeit less conviniently.

It might be cheaper for SM to have me go round his place and help him fine tune his chair with my OEM dongle. All I ask for is tea/coffee and choc biscuits! Also depends on when Melissa can be available for a whole day.
