Trilogy 100 vent dc cable

Postby thebassman » 09 Oct 2017, 22:46

Anyone know what kind of connector is on the respironics trilogy 100 to plug in an external battery?

https://www.medexsupply.com/respiratory ... 60185.html

I can't spend this much on a cable :(

It's medical grade though  so of course you gotta sell an arm and a kidney for it...

The respiratory therapist was trying to convince me the cable didn't exist.... banghead

Fuses likely and some sort of regulator.

May have to bite the bullet and just buy it...

Did you end up buying one of these? The link in the thread is dead, but I think the plug is Smiths Interconnect D Series, but I'm not sure which one.

https://www.smithsinterconnect.com/prod ... /d-series/

I called Respironics and their price for the cable is £295. (the battery one is discontinued, so only the "cigarette lighter" version is available)

If I can't figure out the right plug to use, I was thinking of bypassing the plug. Looks like a molex mini-fit plug on the other end. From the service manual it looks like the device can run on anything from 11v to 28v, so I was hoping it's robust enough to not need whatever is inside the box on the cable if it's coming from a decent battery. The service manual says it's polarity protected, so that seems a good sign.

Maybe I could take out the connector, unplug it inside, then dangle something out the hole.

Did you get this from the NHS? If so just explain why you want the lead and they will probably supply you with one - I got one for my CPAP machine when they loaned me a power supply for holiday on a boat but they let me keep the lead just wanted the battery pack returned because every machine is different but they can use the power packs for different users

I put in a request but I don't know if they'll get back to me in time for my trip next week. I also asked if they have a "Respironics Trilogy Detachable Battery Charger, Respironics Model: 1072182" which could recharge the removable battery which is supposed to be good for 3 hours. I'm going on the Caledonian Sleeper (the old fleet) which has no power in the wheelchair accessible berth. They have power in the lounge car, but the lounge car isn't reliably wheelchair accessible (sometimes the accessible coach is added to the train the wrong way round). I'm used to being able to charge my chair and vent on the train, so having to run the vent on battery all night, and arrive with enough of a charge left to do anything might be tricky. I'm still using MK Gel batteries in my chair and they power the vent unless I'm using the vent's batteries.

The detachable battery charger is discontinued but your respiratory company may still have some.I have one and it works well it helps if you have an extra detachable battery then you can swap while the other charges. You could use an extension cord depending how far away the nearest outlet is away.
