Actually my solution was to replace the metal screen with HDP.

BM are you quite sure of the composition of your nozzle? Could it be bronze which is pretty impervious to corrosion it "looks" similar? On boats we used bronze freeze plugs for raw water inboard engines, almost every other metal composition is useless. (never tried or used the better grades of Stainless)

Def brass. Came with a spare. Looks like a carburettor jet, with a slot. Supposed to wear over time but no sign yet. In higher power units with petrol engines etc they are usually stainless.
