Sorry, if I wasn't clear.
Think of joystick position, (looking down from above) like a clock-moving straight ahead, being 12:00.
Move the joystick straight forward.
If both motors go forward, great, then try going to the 3:00 position-one motor should run forward, and the other reverse, mimicing a turn in place, to the right.
If not, try swapping motor leads, and try again.
If I recall, I ended up swapping motor leads at the controller, and then swapping wires at one motor, (but it might have been both), as well, to get it to drive the way I wanted.
Switching from RWD, to FWD, will probably require other changes, to be controllable, though.
With the wheels off the ground, you don't have to worry about the chair running into anything-or you having to chase it around your work area.
