Reverse controls of C350

Postby Rye » 14 Mar 2018, 16:20

I have a C350 (rear wheel driver) I'd like run as a C300 (front wheel drive). Can the joystick controls be reversed using a dealer dongle? Thanks.

Easily.
Or you can just swap motor cables around.

Swapping motor cables around will reverse the forward and back drive of the chair?

Swapping the wires in the terminals will swap forwards and backwards. Swapping side to side will swap left/right.

Just swapping the motor cables in the PM with have the desired effect? Or are you saying I have to swap the wires somewhere else too? Thanks.

Swapping the wires in the terminals will swap forwards and backwards. Swapping side to side will swap left/right.

As above! Terminals = motor polarity. Swap the wires around inside the plug connector.
Swappiung side to side means connectors in the power module.

Couple tips-
Block the wheels off the ground, so you don't have to chase the chair, while working on it.
Moving the joystick to the corners-10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, (12:00 is straight ahead) should cause just one motor to drive, from there, you can try swapping the plugs at the controller.
Then, you will also have to swap the wires at the motor, on one, or maybe both sides-been too long since I did it, to remember.
Good luck

ringuy, not sure what you mean? Is that a programming sequence with the joystick?

Sorry, if I wasn't clear.
Think of joystick position, (looking down from above) like a clock-moving straight ahead, being 12:00.
Move the joystick straight forward.
If both motors go forward, great, then try going to the 3:00 position-one motor should run forward, and the other reverse, mimicing a turn in place, to the right.
If not, try swapping motor leads, and try again.
If I recall, I ended up swapping motor leads at the controller, and then swapping wires at one motor, (but it might have been both), as well, to get it to drive the way I wanted.

Switching from RWD, to FWD, will probably require other changes, to be controllable, though.

With the wheels off the ground, you don't have to worry about the chair running into anything-or you having to chase it around your work area.
sorry, I don't have a C350 to mess with.
Good luck

Swapping at the PM and at the motor (very easy) reversed everything. Appreciate the help.

You could also have done this in programming. When a chair is built there is no "correct" motor polarity. Different motors or chairs are random. So the polarity can be set in software. For E.G.
REVERSE M1: Yes/No? &
REVERSE M2: Yes/No?
And likewise the turn "sense" or direction can be reversed too.

I reversed my R-Net chair easily with a handheld programmer. I just do not like the pod sticking way out. Now the joystick is located at the front of the pod.
