Elryko- I am rather disappointed that you can't allow yourself to watch a 20 minute video on the history of how religions were created through the years. So since you won't, I'll take time to tell you some of it. There are over 20 different God's all recorded in recent history that all have the Virgin birth on Dec 25th, performed miracles, had 12 apostles, died on the cross, resurrected 3 days later. All of these are based on astrological events. Horus, the Egyptian God from 2000BC has his story carved in the Pyramid walls with the exact same story as Jesus. Krishna, the Hindu god, same story, different time period. Jesus is just the last one in current history. Dec 25 is chosen as on Dec 22 the Sun is at its lowest point on the horizon, but on Dec 25th, it rises 1 degree , thus giving birth to the Sun (Son), but all of this is explained in the video.
You ask me why I don't research Jesus and Christianity? Well, I have done years of research. There are close to 20 authors of the first century and none of them mentioned Jesus, wouldn't you think at least one of them would have? And if I ask you for proof of Jesus or God, and you will say, " I have faith" , but it is blind faith, because you nor anyone you have ever known has not seen them either, when has he ever shown up? As the quote says, " those who read the bible become christians, those who STUDY the bible become atheists". I was brainwashed as a strict, devout Catholic, living every minute of the day, fearing the wrath of a vengeful god, who was watching me constantly, and waiting for my death so that he ( notice it is always a man, because men, not women, wrote the ancient text) could place judgement and send me to Hell more than likely.
Luckily after years of research studying the history of religion, I discovered logical thinking, and the ability to reason. There's nothing more illogical than God having to incarnate himself as his son, so that he could have himself killed , by himself, to try and cover up a serious mistake during the creation process, which he being the all omnipotent, all knowing being ( meaning he knows everything that has happened, is currently happening, and will happen), knew what was going to happen.
When and if you ever have a child of your own, when that infant is placed in your arms, look intently into that precious face and ask yourself if you then believe that it has been born a sinner with "original sin". It's one of those times when you realize how ignorant all the gullible Sheeple are to believe such ridiculous ideas. Then when you get the baby at the baptism, remember that the holy water has been drawn from the city water supplies and spooky, magical words have been spoken to it, and by sprinkling it on the forehead permanently "saves" it's soul. Just like the qoute, " religion was invented by the first con man, who met the first fool.
Now will you watch the videos for me and at least become educated as to why your religion exists?
I watch the videos but i don't believe it, only the Biblie, i don't have a religion, i am only christian and i believe in God and Jesus who created the earth, sky, oceans, galaxy and you and your soul
and He loves you and all the people etc,
its a only true God, rest of "gods" he makes by people,
Yes and had you been born in say egypt you would ABSOLUTELY believe the same about Ra. Or in pakistan, you would say the same about their god. EVERY religion believes the exact same bullshit!
if your read the Bible you will know the Catholic is not biblical religion... my english is bad i use google translate i don't know to say better. I am not brain wash or programmed like Burgerman says, i choose this my self, i really believe in Jesus.
I know you don't attak me or BM is my friend, we just speaking. I say what i believe. If i am wrong i will see and i don't lose any thing.
From Bible:
John 3 vers 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
I am not brain wash or programmed like Burgerman says, i choose this my self, i really believe in Jesus.
Then you have intellectual supergiants like Bill Maher who believe in the extermination or forced conversion to Atheism of nearly 2 billion people.
Cognitive Dissonance - Dictionary:
Description
This is the feeling of uncomfortable tension which comes from holding two conflicting thoughts in the mind at the same time.
Dissonance increases with:
The importance of the subject to us.
How strongly the dissonant thoughts conflict.
Our inability to rationalize and explain away the conflict.
Burgerman wrote:This is why elryko has not been back for days and cannot answer our questions. He has an internal conflict and does not want to face this, and probably thinks we are attacking him rather than his religion. He even denies it is religion. And claims its not a biblical religion. Yet keeps quoting the bible! (which is a biblical religous source by definition). He sees his religion as not religous but "normal" or "correct" in spite of zero eveidence for any of it being true, while dismissing all the hundreds of other gods and religions as man made. Yet cannot see that those members of other religions see his religion in exactly the same way. He cant (or he can but refuses face it due to internal conflict) see that his is EXACTLY the same as all the others, and christianity is a man made religion and that it even stole all its ideas and its stories from previous much older religions. But he has his fingers in his ears and prefers to ignore all of this as the contradiction makes him uncomfortable.Cognitive Dissonance - Dictionary:

Elryko, noody is attacking you personally. Quite the opposte. We were trying to free you from your chains. To allow you to believe as many true things and as few false things in life as you can. To help you so you dont need to feel uncomfortable about reality. Fact and logic are not insults. If they make you feel uncomfortable then you should examine what you "believe" and why you believe it. Because where there is a conflict between logic and reason and your "belief" then the belief must be wrong. This is where your mental unease and conflict is from. Come back!

The arms on your chair look as if they would be better slightly higher. For control and stability. Or maybe just the joystick as its sitting quite low.

elryko you have not been back for 10 days or so. Internal conflict is too difficult and scary to think about? So avoid and run away? One of the problems of "knowing" something is true without any reason or logic, yet contradicting the obvious facts or evident reality. Very uncomfortable. Again nobody is insulting or attacking you personally, just talking about your non sensical belief. All religous people find this very hard. Because its not actually possible to have 2 opposing beliefs or understandings in your head at once.
