Eagle Folding Power Wheelchair

Postby Rye » 12 Jul 2018, 12:33

Does anyone own or has anyone tried the Eagle Folding Power Wheelchair? I'm just curious how rough it rides. Looks like a great In-A-Pinch chair. I like the easy battery swap and the easy portability. It's pretty stylish too.

Those come from china, and there are many different variations and models. All are a bit toyish, and really only good for shopping centres. They are good if you want light. They are really only intended as a light folding chair and so use lithium, and brushless to get decent range with little weight. Those are the lithium laptop style batteries, and as such they will not live a long time. And can burn rather energetically. And replacement is going to be costly as you are tied into their design. But as folding chairs go they are worth a look.

Before you buy one see if you can rent a portable for a day from a local DME.

The all look cool with colors, features but if you come from a rehab chair you give up major comfort in fold ups.

You can find portable at 1/3 of the cost in eBay, craigslist even offer up.

If you buy from distributor some have 30 day trail but you pay for the ship back.

I have a Permobil C300 and two C350's. I would like to have a chair for every situation and to have a varied perspective. That's why I'd like to have a super light chair and also a mid-wheel (probably the MM V6). I rented a lightweight chair when I went to Spain and it got me far and decently smooth over the cobbled streets of Salamanca. I can't remember the name of that chair. Any better suggestions for a lightweight foldable? Something that folds with ease.

Spinning a chair in a circle in a wide open space tells nothing. How does it do in a busy market or getting through a tight doorway or an infernal ADA curb cut on a sidewalk.

I'm not trying to look at this chair like a true power chair. I'm trying to find an ULTRA portable chair that is decent. I have plenty of top dollar power chairs. Any suggestions for an ULTRA portable power wheelchair? The Eagle looks to fit that description, but I was trying to find out if anyone owns or has driven one and could give their opinion. Thanks.

Check viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6724

May be of interest. Similar / same, many variations, different name.

Or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Foldawheel-PW- ... B00X3NM6FI

There are others too on that reviews section. aLL similar. Eagle is just another name. They come with wheels in different sizes too.

Isnt that just going to be the same thing? But a lot of work and expence, + all the development issues. And when done it will be wider and less easy to lift or fold?

Makes no sense if you have a power chair why would you want a fold up?

Slower, less comfortable, not very versatile, sit real low...and I know men that bought them thinking there wife's could break it down and use in another non modified car or suv and they are big and bulky and many times to heavy I have only seen men be able to break them down and load them and not struggle.

But your call I have a fold up and its never used other then when we 1st tested it for R&D for the manufacture.

I've been without a vehicle that can haul my powerchair on more than a few occasions. I've been stuck at home or stuck staying in the another vehicle for over a month in the past because of van troubles. It will be an option for those times. Not an everyday chair.
