It’s for a Amy systems chair they must use a 9pin.

What does it plug into?

Its a box with 5 momentary switches. Although if you ignore the cetre one 4 will work fine. Easy to make. The centre switch is just switching the recline AND the legs at the same time.

Box... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Plastic-Electr ... boxes.TRS0

2 way momentary rocker switches, as below, and a small project box. With a din plug or whatever connector it uses.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/5x-Mini-Moment ... 2657446993 9 dollars.

Actually, it appears to have 10 momentary switches-5 in the forward direction and 5 in the back direction.
Not sure, but possibly, the icons are lit, when activated, as well.
10 switches on 9 pins-I bet there is some electronic logic inside the case.
That could make it tough to find substitute.
If he's looking to make just one or 2 switches remote to the pictured panel, it might be possible to modify and add monojacks, if there is any room.

they usually plug into the jack socket on an rnet joystick. they are resistors in there that control what function operates depending on which button is pressed hence only needing a stereo socket

10 momentary switches works the same as 5 momentary rocker switches. Because each is actually 2 switches. Forwards and back. And you can get lit switches too if needed. Or just program the joystick to do everything as mine is. No extra buttons needed.

Yes resistors, and plugs into the joystick as described by rover is the usual way.. But THAT box you are looking at must have no resistors, and those are in some other box that the 9 pin connector plugs into. Which is why I asked what it plugs into.

You can do the resistor thing yourself if you want, the details are in the R-Net tech PDF file. But thats harder... :fencing

I could not possibly drive a properly programmed chair with that switchbox in the way. Its located exactly where you need to put your lower hand and little fingers to hold/cup the right side of the joystick as a solid reference, for controlling the joystick. What are they thinking? :cussing

No wonder they have to ship all chairs with pudding stirrer doorframe smashing programming.

P.S. Amy is sunrise in disguise. Same basic chairs with minor differences.

I didn't get the chair yet. Its being held because of adjustments & they want me to demo it again. It has Rnet & Lcd. My vendor just emailed me to tell me AMY has built other seating control buttons for him & they may be able to do that for me.

Here's what Amy is currently offering.

My vendor explained the blue switches function.

Push once and the seat will tilt back, push again and the seat will tilt forward etc.

Which is better the rocker or push once button?

I would say rocker. But would choose non. Bcause they mount the thing right in the way!

And they also mount the joystick too low, and too far towards the outside, and usually too far ahead too. Meaning nobody could ever control it properly, and its uncomfortable. And so they have to have the delayed action mushy steering pogrammedin, so you can mash the stick about like an epileptic retard after about 8 pints and it doesent run people down. In fact little happens at all! And once it eventually does, you cant stop it happening. :clap

Update, No dice on the permo type switches. The blue button bar (see pic above) is the only switch/push button they offer. The other type is this small toggle (4 way) Joystick. Plus main Joystick will control seat functions as well. Does anyone use this type Joystick for seat controls?

You realise that you can use any type of buttons, switches, joystics, of any type? Doesent need to be conventional, just whats easy to use for you?

Anything from a tube you suck, blow, magnetic switches, but clench switch (never saw one but...) and anything you can imagine. :shifty:

I went to try my new AMY chair at rehab and make final adjustments. And in the end I got this seat function switch box that I wanted all along. Not the blue button strip. These vendors can't get their info correct.
