QUICKIE Q100 R

Postby Dan » 01 Sep 2018, 15:54

A "new" lightweight indoor/outdoor chair from Sunrise Medical.

"Our vision was to create a TRUE indoor/outdoor powerchair with super-tight indoor manoeuvrability and no compromises on outdoor stability and performance."

Speed: 6 kph
Battery Size: 55 Ah
Max. Range: 31 km (19 miles  )

"Powered by punchy 55Ah batteries, the Q100 R electric wheelchair loves a spin around town and longer city trips. With the stamina to go up to 31 km (19 miles) on a single charge, you‘ll have plenty of time to stop-off for other adventures along the way."

It is cheap, Salsa Q100 Base Price £2750. I wonder if the Chinese competition is getting to them?

With the stamina to go up to 31 km (19 miles) on a single charge
...19 miles is a flat ground ESTIMATE that uses the premise that every last erg of energy is extracted from the batteries = 100% FLAT ... with reality involved in the equation 8 - 10 miles.

From looking at the picture only. Small 8 inch casters, no suspension, weedy VR2/2 pole motor combination with small batteries. And FOUR MPH, and outdoor with no lights...

By ESTIMATE woodygb means the ISO standard. Which is not remotely realistic for a bunch of reasons, meaning that you wont get near that range in typical daily use. But if you are say 12 stone or under, and spend more time indoors than out, it might be OK, as long as the reality is as rear seated as it is shown. But it needs a centre footplate to allow the seat/legs tomove back a bit for good control.

Yup ...The ISO standard allows the manufacturers to ignore reality and lie legally.

They also have the new bigger Q700 M SEDEO ERGO, with many more options. Can't see a price but "Our Built-4-Me customisations team can provide a powered wheelchair to reflect your individuality."

They are in my Salsa. A cheap alternative to the MKs...

Mostly nobody does. Its a fight between the bean counter and what ready to use components they can get and what other parts they can use. Like arms, swingaway, etc. Its a parts re-shuffle, and the marketing department and the bean counter.

For what its worth the 80Ah batteries wont give more range than the 74A MK at the 2 to 3 hour rate we ACTUALLY use.

ISO test based on 5 hour rate...

Reality is 2 to 3 hour. (6mph x 2 hours = 12 miles. And at that point its almost over). With 200A peaks as you turn or accelerate so 30 min rate...

Its the first thing I noticed and there does not appear to be a rear wheel drive version. Sunrise are allin with MWD. But I guess most powerchair users would not even notice the small castors.

If you want rear drive, get a salsa! Sunrise still have rear drive options.

With centre footplate, move seat back just spanners, 120A r-net, 4 pole, advanced colour joystick, grp24, lights, 10 inch casters, suspension, power everything should you want it, etc.

salsa and jive will be discontinued within the year, possibly much quicker.

you now have a q500 m,f and r to replace the salsa and puma 20 and the q700 m,f and r essentially replacing the jive and puma 40 range.

q100 is a decent little chair but its a boxed product with minimal options and adjustability but it ive good value and drives very well for what it is.
