Jerky Wheelchair

Permobil C350 with high speed motors...the chair has very jerky movements when even slightly moving the joystick. Also, the chair keeps moving after I release the joystick even with all ACC/Decl turned to 100. Any thoughts?

I think you get them wrong .

BM wants everyone only set 100 to
TURN ACCELERATION /
TURN DECELERATION .

Keep other acc / dec normal , eg 20%.

Most likely you know this already...Here's what helped for my chair with its heady maximum speed of 6mph, anyway.

It makes a huge difference how you're holding the joystick, as I found upon programming my chair for improved responsiveness. Programming (as per the making it steer sticky) didn't help the jumpiness, so I've now re-positioned the pod mounting to where I can hold the base and use my thumb and forefinger to move the joystick. Now I can feel the js properly and get considerably finer initial acceleration using the settings burgerman advised.

Best not set deceleration to 100%, as your chair will want to pitch you out when you decelerate, I'd have thought - maybe yours is defaulting to zero or something? For mine, I got fed up one day and set all my accelerations to zero, and the chair responded by sitting there flashing its js lights at me until I reprogrammed it to numbers it could use.

I guess I should have explained my situation full (I was feeling lazy). I didn't originally have my Deceleration at 100%. I turned it up because my chair kept moving after I released the joystick. It didn't help. I accidentally lost the programing for my old C350 w/ high speed motors so I had to use C300 programing (with standard motors) and just reverse motor drive direction. My chair also now runs down (new)batteries in no time and speeds on the right side slightly. The jumpiness also started after the loss. Maybe need to adjust other settings for the high speed motors?

Whats your motor compensation set to? It should be between 30-45 for 4-pole motors.

It says 80 mOhms. So change that to 30-45 and see what happens?

80  Surprised it didn't run away on it's own! Try 40 and the value goes in steps of 5.

Bad idea to copy settings from a different chair.

Tell me about it! lol Thanks, Steve. It was a little smoother at 35, but had acceleration lag so I'm going to go up a bit. Should my C300 be set at 80 with the standard motors?

It should be set to whatever is correct. Enough so it responds and does as its told. Not too much so it becomes jumpy and nervous. Increase in small steps.
