How easy is it to change a control system?

Postby salixfire » 31 Jan 2019, 15:02

I was wandering through the web looking for electric wheelchairs and found https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Standing-power-recline-power-lifting-multifunctional_217085680.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.411.69d42f2dyn9UnZ. This uses some sort of secondary controller to control the different functions. How difficult would it be to convert it to a RNet controller? Thank you :)

Yeah a lot of them on Alibaba are priced similarly. Shipping is not included and that's likely to be expensive but still makes the total cost much cheaper than here

Probably a whole new wiring loom plus programming the controller so the joystick does all the functions.

Might be an easier job to replace the bed-style control handset with a row of switches attached to the armrest.

its a vr2 system, simpler to upgrade to rnet as motor plugs and battery loom will have correct plugs

So what do you think will be required to change it over? (of course if can't be for certain unless one was ordered) A RNet 120A controller and RNet pod and then anything else? Thank you :)

You might ask that supplier whether they can provide the chair with 120A Rnet instead of the vr2 and how much extra that would cost.
