I use my huge Pride Wrangler at outdoor events.

I bolted a Stainless Steel marine antenna mount to the rear bumper as a trailer hitch with 1/4" stainless bolts. I use it with all sorts or wagons and carts.

That's pretty good Shirley, but has it a screen or just a hole? A bit silly if it's just a hole. Bit like buying a pair of glasses with no lenses :geek:

The slack alice round me spring was I reckon causing the trailer to rattle annoyingly. See first two vids.

The screws solution isn't pretty, see photos, but it's all I could think of. It's because there's about 1/16" play between spring OD and tube ID. But I think the screws might split thin walled tube, so was thinking of reinforcing tube with some steel hose clips (jubilee clips) Any thoughts???

I guess trailer is always going to jump around a bit on rough surfaces cos it's got no suspension :eh:

I've studied your pictures.
I can't see your actual coupler. Is it a ball, so it can flex position as your tow vehicle & trailer cross different terrain angles. Some flex is required to prevent torque on the hitch. If your coupler ball has enough range of motion, then I don't see why the spring is needed... or any sleeved joint at that place. (If you coupler were rigid, then you'd need flex somewhere to turn corners or to allow for different angles in the ground.)

If the sleeved joint isn't necessary... eliminate the spring & weld the tubing to minimize free play.

Hi Flagman,

No there is no ball hitch.

How it works is that instead of a ball it uses a relatively chunky spring (about 1" diameter) to allow the trailer the articulate side to side, and up and down (pitch and yaw?)

The spring is mounted longitudinally but and there is a solid piece of nylon inserted up the middle of the spring that stops the spring from stretching lengthways, but still allows the spring to bend from side to side, and up and down. I guess it's simple and cheap and okay for cycle trailer that isn't suppose to be lugging heavy loads.

This is the same trailer https://youtu.be/kGQdzLkw2OY, you can see the spring arrangement at 1:05 secs. I drastically shortened the length of the tow hitch arm and also put a smear of graphite grease on the connector. So mine couples really easily, and likewise when I press the release button it uncouples really easily as well. The guy in the video seems to struggle a bit with his. Plus mine doesn't overturn.
