Probably.
There are thousands of people that are developing better batteries. Because thyeres a LOT of grant and research money. I see so many of these claims going back decades, that never actually appear in the market that I am always super sceptical.
I also happen to study physics for fun. And happen to know that at least one of their repeated claims is simply untrue. They claim the graphine is a superconductor. Well it is, only a superconductor in the same way that many other things are. It is superconducting only at 1.5 degrees above absolute zero. And thats totally useless! And its only superconducting if two single layers of atom are alighned 1.1 degrees out of true. So in fact they are worse superconductors than almost all other materials! Because thats very hard to achieve even in tiny samples in a science lab repeatedly.
So if that claim isnt true what does it say about the doubled energy density?
I suspect that as usual its all about grants and research investors. And we will never see it work in the real world. Could be wrong. So far in rather a lot of years I never was. But its looking fishy!
The chinese are a little untruthful about anything that brings in money...
