Permobil m300 repair help

Postby Ogurs29 » 12 Apr 2019, 22:22

I have an M 300 that when you turn it on it will move about 3 feet then the red turtle comes on and it won’t move after that. I have removed the seat adjustment system to help narrow down the problem. No power to the seat adjustment so I am assuming it is the power module.joustick is rnet D51635.02

Batteries are fully charged. The only code in the history was brakes. I assume from just put it in free wheel mode. If I try and move it after it stops it shows a picture of the joystick at an angle in red.

quite likely, the drive is inhibited due to a problem with the seating system.
It could be as simple as a blown fuse, broken wire in a cable, or something unplugged, or as bad as a bad actuator or seat control (ICS) master module.
Depending on the configuration of the seat, the drive speed is reduced, or inhibited completely-to comply with various ISO and other legal regulations.
The ICS Master Module, monitors the seat position, and tells the power module, to drive and how fast.
If the power module doesn't get the signal from the ICS master, it will not drive.
If Rnet isn't showing any error, I would bet the ICS master signal is the issue.
I believe your ICS master has lost power, (there is a 20 amp fuse on the board), or has gotten uplugged/broken wire, or has just plain gone bad, and will require replacement. A bad actuator can cause the fuse to blow.
Aside from the fuse, there really isn't anything user friendly as far as repair-other than check for something unplugged.
I don't have an owners manual here, but it might show you where the ICS master is located
Good luck

The ICS master module is behind the rear shroud on an M300.

I have removed the seat adjustment system and plugged the joystick directly into the control module and still the same issue.

"I have removed the seat adjustment system and plugged the joystick directly into the control module and still the same issue."

Exactly-the power module is programmed to look for the signal from the seating system-ICS master-without it, the chair will drive a very short distance, after powering up-until the system checks for seat signal, and doesn't see it-then it will stop moving,
The seat signal tells the controller whether to drive full speed, reduced speed, or not at all. without the signal.
I'm still betting on a problem within the seat control system-and it isn't really user friendly, as far as repairs are concerned.
The seat control on M3 chairs uses a Permobil seat control-not the PG seat control, so the PG manuals don't really help a lot, in that regard.

Probably best to consult your provider or Permobil directly.

Good luck
