VSI Charger Delete?

Postby Tech » 15 May 2019, 01:00

I have a 2004 VSI chair, and found out the hard way that I can't remove the charger without it disabling the chair. I've been looking through the boards and the nearest info I can find to that is there's a setting in the software that needs flipped? Other than that, is there a hardware way to trick the controller into thinking the charger is present? I've swapped the batteries for a set of LiFePo4 and the onboard charger won't work with those, obviously, so I'd like to remove the dead weight and free up the space for the correct charger.

The inhibit wire is either made High ( 24v + ) or Low ( Gnd )....to prevent the chair moving when being charged.
Inhibit LOW is the norm but onboards can be inhibit High.

REMOVE / Unplug the onboard charger ...THEN.

If your feeling brave, jump a temporary wire from the GND pin 2 to the middle INHIBIT pin 3 of the pods charging socket....try the chair...if that doesn't work switch over to the Plus + pin 1 .

And yes it can be altered in settings.

Got it removed via software. Had to toggle it from low to high on Inhibit 3.

Is the charger tied to the chair?
Do you have any photographs?
