Driving wheelchair with android phone

Postby Asif » 21 May 2019, 17:36

Hi friends
Could someone please tell me how to get your power wheelchair to be controlled from Android phone?

Do I need to install a Bluetooth chip in joystick?

How to make all the connections?

I am using invacare storm tdx with MK5 joystick.

Thanks in advance.

I intercept the joysticks output to the pods electronics....send it to an Arduino and create my own output .... this is then transferred back to the pod.
I do much the same with the Android / bluetooth joystick.

The Arduino either takes the joysticks input , then replicates and outputs the same signal , OR it can take commands via bluetooth from an Android App and then outputs a signal that the pods electronics understands.

I installed one of woodygb blue tooth setups for a friend. He is delighted with it. He uses it to load and unload a track chair from a trailer.

Woody, I just acquired a Permobil M300 and want to be able to control it remotely. Will you interface work with Rnet, and an Omni? And how much for your interface?

So I am not sure if I need the Omni or not, some of the posts I have read mention the Omni module for Rnet. If I do not need it then great, once less thing.

90+15+ Paypal fees? so $105 plus paypal, I can send you through paypal, not sure what paypal fees would be though. Any thoughts?

You must choose either one for the R-net pod OR one for plugging into an OMNI.

Payment in POUNDS STERLING not U.S. Dollars!

I build to order ..no money required upfront...Simply confirm a firm request for a particular type and I will bill when one it is finished.
