Always the future though... But they do keep on getting better bit by bit. We can now get 210Ah in a non fiery replacement for a set of grp24s cheap enough to do it. And it will only get better.

I checked the link titled 2nd gen batteries 190 euros perkWh.
Price seemed quite low. Must have really come down since BM did his 1st build.
One thing though is they are sold in groups 4,8,12,48 as needed for ~12v groups of 4 lifepo4 3.3v cells BUT when you click on the specification these cells are shown to be Li-ion cells which would be 3.7v or a 3 cells group for ~12v.
They probably really are lithium IRON phosphate but the spec link gives me pause as usual. czy

LFP is still a form of lithium Ion cell. See here. Everywhere else on the originating page makes its clear these are definitely LFP @ 3.2v nominal. These are exactly the same cells discussed and linked to in other threads.

A lot. Not so much the headways. But now many more options in new sizes that are a much better fit, so allowing us to fit way more Ah into the same space, and for the same price as before. So it still costs as much, but low c rate compact cells can be used, and around 2x the Ah or greater can fit in the space of the old lead.

So its more like the cost stayed the same, but now you can get way more Ah in, for the same cost. Which means that the low C rate is then no longer a problem.

E.G. You can usually replace grp 24 lead with 210Ah of lithium. So swapping 35 to 40Ah (peukert/usable) for 5x more.
