Kenda 4 ply tire ?

Postby expresso » 23 Oct 2019, 03:05

I am replacing my tires on one chair - it comes with Kenda 410-350-6 tire 4 ply Nylon - thats from the factory - now i want to purchase two more for the spare rims i will have soon - searching online and all i can find is the 2 ply version - same tire kenda etc, but 2 ply vs 4ply that i have on my chair now -

does anyone know of where i can find the 4 ply version of this tire ?

No its a tube tire i have on the bounder - they come already installed with Slime or what ever they use - so far i havnt had any issues and i worn my tires out no tread left and still feel strong - now i dont use it and should have the new set in a few weeks installed - ready for next summer -

Expresso, the last one says 4 ply rated... they used to do this on auto tires when they upgraded the plys. This may be 2 plys / 4 ply rated.

oh i see - could be right - its done now - i see when i get them how they look and feel compared to the ones i have - i wear them out in a few months - so as long as they dont give me a flat - i can wear them out easily and then wont purchase again - i will reuse the tubes i have on the tires now -

the tech will change the tires out with new ones in a few weeks - just a quick swap - new rims tires - original - then i will change out the worn ones with these i just purchased and see - does say 440 rated for weight where most other 2 ply say alot less something like 280 lbs -

They're the same size as my scooter tyres.

These are what i fit to my scooter. I reckon they're good for tarmac

too late - it shipped already - its just to have a spare set ready in case in may need - the first set i just worn out held up great and still good but worn out like a slick :) its a Kenda brand 4 ply - i was about to order it from the other place - but i needed a bussiness acct. etc, or had to call them - then i found those and said ok same thing 4 ply - 440lbs load - so i got them -

from the way i use that chair - i will be wearing out a set each summer and re order new ones in the winter from my insurance anyway - since i will have a spare set of rims now - i figure i just get new tires for the spare set and will reuse the same tube also -

Hi Expresso I've not a link to the tyre but this is the website I got them from http://www.mobilityscooterpart.com/products.php. I emailed and asked if they could get them for me.

They're the OEM tyres fitted to my Sunrise Mob Scooter. I like them, and thought the tread pattern is probably better for tarmac> But I know nothing about tyres.

This is a screengrab of the email correspondence.

i received the tires i ordered and they are crap - no good - cheap and not even the same size in width - didnt like them -

i have received a refund for them - -and was told to keep them also - i have since found the right Kenda model i believe 4 ply which i ordered now - hopefully its the same tire i have on the chair -

i can maybe use these crap tires as a spare set for my other chair if needed - uses the same size tire on my p222 chair - since thats a spare backup chair - if i really needed - i can use them there - or else try to resell on ebay - but isnt worth it - - cost wise and shipping -

so there you have it - try to find the original brand and tire that you trying to replace to be satisfied - i could have ordered them from bounder at 5x the cost of each !!!!

For what its worth, innova dont make own design tyres. All their tread patterns are just clones of real manufacturers. They make knockoffs.

With small non road legal tyres, theres usually ONE real manufacturer, the proper manufacturer, such as kenda that make the tyres. Then there are all the nasty cheap ones, that just have no clue, or even intention, of making a good tyre. They just buy a quality original, and they do the following.

1. They use it to make a mould. So that they "copy" or steal the tread pattern. Ever noticed how many different tyres with different brand names all have the same copied tread pattern? Thats clue one. A genuin manufacturer would never copy another manufacturers tyre.

2. Some that have a quality brand, such as carlisle, kenda, etc, copy, dont even bother to remove the original brand name. So now you can buy two different tyres, with vastly different build quality, with the same name and tread pattern...

3. Some even copy or clone the knock off ones... So its like copying casette tapes, the 3rd or 4th generation ones are worse and worse copies!

How to know what you are getting? It can be hard. I am used to looking at tyres, from racing bikes etc. I can tell a quality construction, well bonded, stiff sidewalls, accurate bead area, steel belted or cross ply, radial ply, and so on by the feel, look, smell, amount of flash, bead quality, internal feel, etc.

But this is much harder on small non road legal tyres. So only buy from reliable sources, like http://www.allteraintyres.co.uk and only buy well known brands. And examine them carefully when you get them. Some cheap copy tyres have little, or no sidewall plys, or out of round rubber, or the bead area has way more flash, often needing trimming off with a knife. Some even if they apear good, do not run true. Like this one. Also, fancy tread patterns do not make a good tyre. Its internal construction, does. But thats hard to see. So good source, branded tyres.

Not round. Junk. Thrown away 3 mins after this...

i guess i will find out when i get them again - this one is a KENDA brand so lets see if its built the same as the original and load bearing etc,

the ones i have are good for 50 psi and 440 lb load bearing per tire - thats the one i need - the 2 ply are about 280lb and 24psi max - not good for the bounder

funny though i lower my psi on them to 25psi and they still feel strong hard - this is an original kenda that came with the chair - i think bounder wants about $90 for each tire - i will double check just to know -
