24v to 12v convertor advice please

I'm in the early stages of fitting a heated seat cover to the wife's Storm 3, she loves the outdoors, but badly feels the cold. I have a 15A DC 24V to 12V Car Electric Convertor ordered but was wondering if this should be wired so as to be on permanently or switched so it can be just turned on as needed?

Easily. Just add a switch in the positive supply wire.

Turn ON as needed , or it will drain your batteries constantly.
