they have flat free tires in black also - so thats nice - but its stiff for sure - i prefer the factory electronics - ST4 good - you can always i believe swap out the electronics later on for 48V if you wanted - since you have the ST4 motors already and no power options

did you pick a speed ? you have some options up till about 7.5 mph but if you really need the bottom end - 6mph would be the best - 5mph is way too slow - dont think you loose too much going to 6mph

dont think sunrise will modify there battery box ? you can fit 24s in there easy and make a pack later on - 200ah lithium - you can also demo the V6 RWD from motion mobility -

I left a message with Bounder dealer haven't heard back yet, Looking at F6 Hybrid from Magic Mobility only issue for me is small foot plate. My legs don't always stay bent so not sure my feet will stay on foot plate.

I' would be getting the swing away footplates if I buy a Bounder. The size footplate I'd need would be 13" w 15" D that would not flip up be super heavy and long.

Many find the swing away footplates to be a nuisance.

You may want to consult with other folks that have had the swing away footplates to be absolutely sure they would work for you.

I only have center-mounted footplates on my wheelchairs, which work well for me. I personally would not consider a chair with swing away footplates, because those things would get in my way.

all my chairs have swing aways - and my new chair if i ever get it - i did it with a center mount because of recline and power center mount

i hope when i get the new chair - i get used to the center plate - - the issue i dont like is - because of the way i transfer - the center mount gets in the way - normally i remove them when i go home and use the seat lift to get up with my legs leaning on the cushion behind me -

now with the center mount - - its in the way -not flush so getting up now i would have to watch out for that and cant really lean on the rear cushion - but i did it and we sell - maybe i figure out a way that works better - plus i felt the swing aways held my legs in place also - where the center mount no support on the sides of my legs below the knees

i have got an item that mounts along the seat thats adjustable for that purpose - hopefully it works well

Put in request for Bounder 300m demo Major Medical has to sign it and they will send one. 300m isn't the one I'd get but, it should give me an idea of Bounders,

i just got home from a ride in the bounder - its a noisy squeaky chair - stiff ride - but its fine and love that part the most - it is solid -

wont rattle the frame when going over some bumps and cracks where the 646 would on some hard ones - but the 646 is comfortable and sometimes its much needed -

300M really looks the same as the others - its geared for 6mph - or 6.5 mph and better for hills over mines for sure - going downhills you can really pick up some speed - no gears to slow you down - steeper the down hill faster you will go

Just step one of demo chairs. I already know none is perfect. Bounder is my top choice going into this process but, figure it will probably be priced out of budget.
2nd I'll try Magic Mobility RWD F6 hybrid Chair or c73 urban (whatever numotion has available
3rd Will be Sunrise Medical 646se

What on earth is this company still selling such an ugly chair. Nostalgia , said Bounder.

That 2½" drive wheel brought my 40 year memory of British Jennings chair.

⅛" steel frame give me an impression of a never evolving company.

My 2004 Invacare ARROW still does 10mph easily, so is "snaker's" cheap Chinese Wiskin, his guinness record still holds.

I agree Shirley, it does look very similar to the 1980's Everest & Jennings powerchairs... download/file.php?id=13051

Those rear wheels on that Bounder in the above photo are crap for grip on wet surfaces, you slip and slide all over the place! Moreso if they're solids! :cussing :fencing They need to modernise the looks of their chairs and fit better wheels/tyres. Even my old E&J chair had 10in casters!

The Medicare version, the one he is testing (I think) is this one.

http://www.wheelchairs.com/bounder300m.html

I like my bounder. But if they could modernise while keeping the same quality and brute force power of would be nice. Buying one himself, he should look at the used market imo.

You are correct it is the 300m. Actually I have been looking on Ebay and craigslist. I saw one Bounder for 3700.00 it had no batteries, Bounder is the biggest cost but, the V6 Frontier starts at 11,000.00 mark. I expect Bounder cost to be 10k more vs the V6 hybrid and the 646se when I get actual cost it might be closer then I think. Its mostly about needs and abilities to get me where I need to go. Fit indoors/outdoors. I just want to demo stuff an get an idea about each company.

Facebook marketplace, as well as dealers often have used ones. I've never dealt with them, but places like https://marcsmobility.com that I saw when searching for mine. Still pricey, but not obscene like some are.

Adding batteries can be part of the deal. Though they might balk at lithium. A decent gel set was part of my deal when I got mine.

For Magic Mobility, I have had good service from Access to Recreation (https://accesstr.com/).

For general wheelchair stuff, I also have had good service from Liberty Mobility (https://libertymobility.com/).

I agree about swing away footrests I prefer flip up footplate. My issue is my legs don't stay bent and my feet hang over footplate. The one I use now I keep footplate up and raise my feet but, I also run over my feet when I bump joystick. I figure it will be hard going up hills and ramps without foot rest use. With faster and heavier chairs it would do more damage to my feet. I hope I can make foot plate to work

Have you considered foot restraints: something "fancy" like AngleHuggers, or a simple belt around your legs, or even just foot molds? Or something like the locking pedal clips used by bicycle racers?

With spastic CP that wouldn't work well.

Plain, overlapping velcro wouldn't work, but a cinching strap where the velcro tongue goes through a D-ring or other fitting and folds back to velcro to itself gives a far tighter hold. Rachi is dystonic/spastic CP and her muscles are extraordinarily strong, but cinching straps do hold. Here's a page from the McMaster-Carr that shows a variety of these; I'd suggest something wide like 2".https://www.mcmaster.com/hook-and-loop-cinching-straps

sorry to hear - even if price is workable for you - you want to demo one anyway one way or another - what if you dont like it ? you have to be measured also for good seating size and position -

i had one for past 5 years - its a 8.5mph chair - if you want slower - get the 636 - same chair thats 6.5 mph -

i like it - you can make a lithium pack easy for that chair - 200ah fits right in place - just make sure they keep the rear anti tippers off the ground - as they should be - about 2 inches is good - if you add larger tires later - that will raise them to about 3 inches like mines -
