ISM over current error

Postby ICEUK » 12 Apr 2020, 10:12

So I am trying to fit electric footplates to my Jive, i have made my own wirig from footplates to ism, its just two wires from eac footplate to ism, i didnt have the original wiring. So when i plug them into channels 3 and 4 i get a over current protection fault come up on controller but if i plug them in seperately they work fine.
Ita a rnet system
I thought the were plug and go or am i missing something

Thx for help

Maybe. Well I think they are on seperate channels for most chairs, at least on yours, unless a single centre plate. But the max current limit is adjustable in programming on r-net too. So it depends on settings. Also if plugged in as one channel, how do they stay in synch?

I just re-read your post. Now I dont know... Theres a total current limit by the module too.

On my groove the footplates could move independently or together i think thats to do with programming.
i have each footplate going to there own channel which i think is correct, both footplates work fine if only one of them is plugged in. Its like to much current is being pulled by the ism or the current limit is to low.

The ism has never had electric before, i assumed it was plug and go but there may be a little programming needed

Does anyone know what the connectors that go into the ism are called? I

standard blade terminals work ok for ism connections. will likely be programming, can you email the rnet file?

Should it have come from a stock salsa it would be configured like this.

Note the relatively low 3 and 4A settings. You can see which is which if you look above,

I bumped mine up by 1A just in case, across the board. I am heavy, just in case but it worked fine as stock - shown. So if yours looks like this, it may be prudent to check resistance on both motors are the same ish.

Note that acceleration etc and speed, are all at 100 by default. And they must be. And also that the current must be set to a figure that is a little higher than needed but not a lot. Because otherwise the AUTO ENDSTOP DETECT wont work. It works by detecting a sudden change in Amps upwards. And stops the actuator to prevent burn out or other damage.

Before you do so, test while the rnet is CONNECTED.
Go to the page that allows you to monitor at the various currents.
Its on the menu bar at the top, diagnostics, (or system tests?) choose ISM, and watch the actual Amps and volts, per channel, as you move the chair, or seating in real time.

This is the screen for the power module. You want ISM.

I think either there was a bit of wire bridging across the two terminals as i had not heat shrinked the spade connector or it was plugged in wrong,
