A slightly different new power chair

Like most EVs, this one to has motors to help is move along and perform the designed functions. By the looks of it, this device includes not one but two brushless motors, built into the rear wheels. Here too specs are missing, but compared to the size of the vehicle, we can guess that a safe to handle 15 mph (24kph) can be had.

how does it turn?

If it does that thing where one wheel stays stationary and the opposite wheel churns then it will rip up your carpet and tear up your flooring something fierce.

also seems to have no shocks or cushioning at all, very rough ride.

The front wheels can move sideways. I don't think the carpets are in danger.

It's not new. Just news scraped from anywhere with a recent date so you think it is fresh.

The OP posted a link to a prototype Whill. I can't find any other reference to it. It's the model F in that post, which isn't in production. But the model C I think your post is foghornleghorn, that you can get for a few thousand from tga. An airport in Japan is trialling some of them. They can be self-driving. Or so says a blurb I was looking at about them. https://www.airport-technology.com/news ... a-airport/

Model F is someone's imaginary university project and nothing actually to do with Whill themselves. Its not real or a prototype and lives in 3D animated form only.

Put some push handles on it and it would do as a wheelbarrow.

That whill chair could be improved enormously. Get rid of the odball controller and fit a joystick. Get rid of the frying pans on each side and instead fit sensible sized wheels and tyres on the rear. Get rid of the puny 2 pole motors and small batteries and fit a set of group 24s or lithium. Throw away those daft front wheels and fit a set of casters as they dont work as 1 inch wheels when you turn... And then move the seat back so that it has the weight over the rear.

And we end up with a normal powerchair that works better, only we now have space to fit suspension too. So better ride, more capable on every surface, better range, speed and torque, and a control system that works properly that we can program so it steers.

There you go. Whil chair fixed and it wont look as silly either.
