I'm starting to think I don't want a wheelchair at all but a lightweight cheap scooter so I can load it in my car. I can ride a regular motorcycle. Loading a scooter on a motorcycle is interesting, but a sidecar would work too. Choosing a wheelchair is a bit more involved than just getting a scooter, plus if you're in a wheelchair, people tend to think your legs don't work at all. If I have a good day, I wouldn't use a chair at all, so I'd be likely to confuse people. Maybe I'll want a big ass scooter or power chair later. I can burn a few hundred quid on a cheap scooter for now. My family thinks I won't need a chair for long anyway. I hope they're right.
Since I now know what's the reason for my wooziness, and I don't have EDS, there's hope I'll get better. But I agree I should get a ride as soon as possible.
EDS, EDS-HT, JHS, BJHS, SED, SHAB .... all these acronyms for the same disease ...
For other people you are someone always tired, always complaining, always wrong somewhere... For disability people you seem to be lucky because your legs and arms look like ok. But in fact you can't use them without suffering very much shortly after.
The name of the disease doesn't matter, the most important is to adapt your life to continue.
