Okay so I bought a used, low-mileage 2001 AMS converted Chrysler Town and Country lxi with a nonfunctioning auto passenger rear door (the ramp door). I found it cheap so I thought, if that's all that's wrong, I won't have a problem fixing it. When I bought it, I noticed an insulated cable hanging off the back of the door. So I removed the inside wall where in ran to and found a few pulleys with the cable off of them. I assumed that this was why the door didn't work so we tried to wrap it every way we could think, but it wouldn't budge the door even though the pulleys spin. I looked online and saw that there is supposed to be a motor in the door running a gear on a track in the bottom rail, but it looks like someone removed it. If the motor runs the door, what's the pulley and cable for? I'm stumped. [Also, I've read all about the door wiring harness breaking on these vans]
