thanks for sharing the the wealth of info on power chairs
sadly I am tecnhically-impaired so am limping -along not fully comprehending.
Previously I've had an ancient Quickie power chair bought on eBay.
About 8 years ago I got a power chair from the NHS but it was a piece of _ _ _ _.
The controls were unresponsive, terrible manoeuvring, and dangerous. I live in a hilly area and the wheelchair rolledme backwards off an inclined tactile pavement into oncoming traffic.
So I sent it back.
I couldn't face the aggro. Instead I maxed out credit cards on mobility scooters and an electric hoist for my Renault Kangoo.
I can no longer use mobility scooters, too big for indoors, and physically too difficult now due to progression of symptoms.
I am back trying to get an NHS assessment, (another long story).
I need a comfortable, manoeuvrable, compact & sturdy powered wheelchair. Apparently this is a lot to ask.
