Hello everyone, from South Wales. I live with my husband, two young children and black cat in a far too small house in wet Wales.
I have Ehlers-Danlos Type 3 and it's time for me to stop struggling with my walker soon, as my power chair will be arriving in September. I've always had difficulty walking long distances and on rough ground but the naure of EDS means that I've had a sudden deterioration, though still plenty of time to do my research before choosing my wheels.
As I can walk short distances I've been refused a referral to wheelchair services, and given all the hassle I've had with the medical professionals and PIP claiming, it made sense to go ahead and buy my own chair so that I can get out - especially as I can't drive due to my visual impairment.
So I'm now very eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Genny after being very impressed with the test drive. It should be excellent for ublic transport, including taxis which would be tricky with a more bulky option.
