EVs...

Really don't see the point in buying an EV, especially when the UK infrastructure isn't there to cope. The government have no clue on these things, the ECO BS is a total failure. Can't see EVs ever replacing petrol/diesel engines. If there were more advances in the combustion engine then EVs would not be needed.

They are not needed now. C02 causing any actual problems is nonsense. When you charge an EV its almost all gas or coal or wood pellets being burned. How would this be helping C02 in any way? Esp as it costs shit loads of C02 to produce that car when you already had a perfectly good one.

Problem 2. They are only cheaper to run because the government are subsidising net zero nonsense out of your petrol and gas and electricity costs. And when that revenue stream stops we will be forced to pay high taxes for an EV instead. So it is all a lot of bullshit.

Then consider this. Theres frequently whole weeks where solar does almost nothing (winter and it doesent work at night when you want the lights and heat on). And weeks where the wind doesent blow. Yet the government refuses to use the 500 years worth of coal, gas, oil under our feet. And refuses to allow us to extract more gas, oil from the seas around our coasts... Instead we are paying FIVE TIMES too much for the exact same fossil fuels to be shipped here from around the world. And have already been threatened with power cuts as we cannot keep the lights on.

So how the hell do they expect to provide the power to charge 30 million EVs at night. Most of which use 50 to 100kwh per charge. (Your house typically uses 12 to 15kwh per day. Then they want to make us scrap gas boilers and heat with electricity! We typically use around 5x more kwh of gas compared to electricity. But its 5x cheaper. So if we were to heat our homes electrically then we would use an EXTRA 5X as many kWh as we do now. So with EVs, and heat, we would need around 7 to 10x the power per house from the grid that we do today. And they already cant keep the lights on now! :clap

And all for nothing. This country could be gas, oil, coal, and nuclear rich and sell excess energy to all those european countries that are currently being held to ransome by the russians and the middle east. And we could be oil, gas, rich.

Look...
Nuclear are mostly about to be shut down as all end of life.
Gas generted power which provides the most now, is being phased out over time...
We invested 30 years building wind power and bankrupted society to the tune of 150 billion in the last decade alone. And its doing bugger all again.
Solar isnt working as ts winter!
So how will we heat our homes and charge all these teslas etc?

The government are like ost polititions. Completely clueless.
