PC problems

Postby Toro » 20 Oct 2023, 15:14

Hi guys, I've got a problem with my pc and was hoping for some advice and help.

I'm having problem any time I try streaming anything especially youtube and that is with firefox or edge. A couple of days ago I had to restart my pc and ever since the picture freezes while the voice continues when streaming or if I mute the voice the picture returns fine.

Tried troubleshooting the problem and nothing.

All updates are up to date.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Dont use edge...

Open an elevated command prompt, or open the run box on the start menu (right click) and type

sfc /scannow and press enter or press run. If that says it cant repair it then open an ELEVATED command prompt and type:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press enter.

BOTH of these will replace any corrupt or missing system files. But the 1st one requires that your windows has its built in backup files intact. The second one gets these from the web.

And both will take a long time to complete be patient. If that doesent fix it then I dont know what to suggest. Be sure javascript isnt disabed, and make sure movies are not disabled in firefox. If all else fails download a bunch of video codecs. Disable hardware accelrations in firefox.

Thanks BG, I'll try those things. I don't use edge usually, I hate it but I was just checking to see if it was same in that browse.

I'll try the first, is there anything I have to do beside run it?
