Woke Up to This

Postby Arima » 12 Jan 2024, 19:41

Wondering what to do today. Maybe a good day to bake some bread or some other domestic duty. Not sure it will get above 30 (-1 celsius) for the next several days. More snow is expected in the forecast.

Yes I will be inside the house with my heater on full! The gazebo is the official smoker hangout. Never seen anyone use it. Surprised someone hasn't stole it yet.

It was all frosty today. I stayed in bed. Partly because sores, partly because I have been coughing up clear gunge for 14 days after a sore throat and blocked nose. Dont know what I had but it was evil and I was shivering and teeth chattering etc. I hate winter. I did however notice that the days are getting lighter in a morning and darker noticibly later in the day though cheers Theres hope!

In the northern hemisphere, sunlight gains ground in the morning and afternoon.

Earlier sunrise always helps me get going in the morning. Been lucky to avoid the flu grunge so far this year. This might be the only benefit to social isolation.

I actually like social isolation. When I want it. Never get any! Every day theres always someone, or some call, or text message or bill, or other mail. Always someone or something harassing me. If its not the phone its the door.

Why are you socially isolated?

If we take into account the percentage of the population with whom it is better not to mix, social isolation is a blessing.

I chose to isolate...for exactly the reason Martin mentioned. I expect to be single the rest of my life because I don't think I could deal with another human being for more than 30 minutes at any one time. I just don't have the energy for it. For some reason it is really hard for me to constantly listen to other peoples problems. Especially when that is all they have to say. Sometimes it feels selfish. Shouldn't I be trying to do more to be helpful.

I keep on feeling pretty much the same. Then I meet some young fit female and end up moving them in. So change my mind. The last one was for 12 years... It all depends on who. Some are hard work, high maintainance. Some not. Dont shut them all out. Although now 64 in april so too old to have the same interest and probably single for good now. Does it bother me? Not at all. I do keep an open mind though. But since I wouldnt consider anything older than about 30 and only a looker, its not going to happen any more! :D

I don't exclude everyone.
I have said that many people are despicable.
It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

One thing BM has done is to make himself useful. I think that makes all the difference.
