Urine infection

Postby Burgerman » 25 Jan 2024, 10:50

Last evening and all night I was sufferening from unbelievable sweating and changed the bed twice... Now is all wet again. And was delerious couldnt do anything or concentrate on even speaking. And coudnt do anything except shiver, clench muscles witch ends up hurting and cramping up and teeth chattering. Havent had a bladder infection for several years. Didnt know I had one till I noticed my urine was brown/red and looked terrible! Usually its almost like water.

So took 3 different antibiotics, about a gallon of water, a handful of painkillers which seemed to stop the spasm that was driving me nuts all night. And also a load of baclofen, and an aspirin... Now I FEEL almost human, eyes are a bit weird. Temp seems normal. Stopped sweating.

You do not know how bad a ladder infection is if you never had one. I mean a proper one.

So theres that! banghead Thought I was a gonna.

Use to get them but I never could figure out why. Hard to prevent them if you don't know what the cause is.

I hope you are more relieved today and that the infection is over. My thing is not urinary infections, but kidney stones and when they move they are painful. czy

Commiserations BM. Currently fighting one off myself. Mine was caused by the indwelling catheter I've had to put up with since Xmas. Wishing you well.

They were next!
But its going. Still feel a bit ill. urine mostly clear. Been drinking enough water to drown myself. Filling a 2 litre night bag faster than daily... Used Co-Amoxyclav and unusually it seemed to work. I susect this wasnt an infection but a kidney stone thing though. Blood red urine etc. And enough pain to cause severe spasm for 14 hours or more. Dont normally get that from simple infection. But there was infection as well. Smell, cloudy as hell, brown, severe chills, enough sweating to soak sheets several times and shivering enough to break teeth! No I didnt but I thought I wasnt going to live and couldnt have cared less.

Fun isnt it SCI ?

And were fixed!
Must be.
Didnt feel ill at all 2day. And actually wanted to eat and fancied a coke instead of trying to force water down.

Had a steak, and can concentrate on things properly for a change. Stop posting replies in the wrong places! Had a hell of a few weeks with coughing up fliud since xmas, then this bladder/kidney thing. Not really slept for a month. Finally! 99.9% fixed! Whoohoo. beer

I do have a leccy bed BM, the Scanbed 750. I sleep in a nearly upright position to try and prevent mucus build-up on my chest. Quite often I have to clear it by throwing up which isn't very pleasant.

I feel for you. I get fluid buid up and it makes me caugh it up for 8 hours at a time. Sometimes a week. Its exhausting. I found oxygen stops it and gives me a rest. Then it starts again... Sometimes months go by no problem. Sometimes daily. Great fun!

Some days I would pay money just to be able to have a good cough.
