The CBD was recently legalized here in TX,USA.
The USA (or at least some States) are much more 'progressive' than the UK. The USA always seems a bit of a contradiction in some ways, at least to us living on the other side of the Atlantic. Because on the one hand the USA is quite conservative as it's much more religious than the UK. But on the other hand much more liberal re freedom of speech and gun laws.
In some ways the UK is still stuck in the victorian era where everything is an open secret but illegal. I.E. Drug use is rife everywhere, even more so in business, government, and high society, but they're all illegal. It's the same with euthanasia, doctors are always 'bumping off' (mercy killing) terminal patients, but it's illegal.
I think if you treat adults like children they remain children. I wonder whether one reason why drugs are illegal is the government is scared to death that the public will be 'stoned' all the time and (to coin an american term) not
'working and paying their tax dollars'. As I've got older I'm sure tax revenue is the only thing governments care about. Once you can no longer contribute cos your old or ill you become a liability and a
burden on the NHS as they keep on telling us. Even though they also tell us it's
our NHS and we pay for it, but they don't want us using it
wtf? And don't get me started on freedom of speech! In the UK you can't even say
Boo to a goose without falling foul of some new
hate speech law recently introduced to
protect poultry
Anyhow I'll get off my soap box now, I seem to have wandered off topic somewhat
