John, you said you were a plumber.
Do you know of any ways of getting rid of an air lock apart from using high pressure water?
I had to fiddle with the taps upstairs and couldn't turn the valve in the attic so turned the mains off and drained the tank. All is well apart from an airlock in the cold water supply to the downstairs shower room/toilet. This has happened before (years ago) and I used the garden hose to force the air out. However, the garden hose is now a 10mm curly thing that doesn't provide enough pressure (apparently). I have the old hose buried in the depths of the shed somewhere but the garden tap is awkward to get to. It's been like it for a month now.
Any other ideas?
edit:
I can't use the kitchen tap because the top of the mixer comes off and the water hits the ceiling!
