Well, I'm eager to read your findings.

So far our rig is stable and generating what we expected. Took lots of swearing to get there LOL.

30,140,000,000,000

The estimated power usage of the bitcoin network (30.14 Tw/h), meaning that the energy required to power the mining of the cryptocurrency is greater than that used by Ireland.

At a continual power drain of 3.4GW, (thats TRIPLE the 1.21GW needed to go back to the future) it means the network consumes five times more electricity than is produced by the largest wind farm in Europe, the London Array in the outer Thames Estuary, at 630MW.

I like it!

Here in the USA GREED is GLORIFIED. The TOP 0.25% live off the backs of the WORKING MIDDLE CLASS.

No. It's the other way round.
The top .25% are massively underpaid.
The working and middle classes benefit far more from the productivity of the top .25% than the top .25% receive from their helpers.

Our miner has been running @75% capacity max. Burned up a 1200w PSU, should have handled the load, but didn't; luckily its still within the return window. The mining mobo can accomodate 3 ATX PSU's, so I've been able to keep 10 of 13 GPU's operational with spare PSU's while the dead one awaits replacement.

Ether prices have been surging of late, now above $1200 USD/ ether. We calculate ether prices around $450 when we bult the rig to be profitable in a reasonable amount of time. So despite significant downtime and running at less than full capacity for 2+ weeks, the miner has already pulled in over $800 so far.

So far so good! :clap

Have had several big powerful branded power supplies go bang. I dont think loading is the reason. Bad components!

And replaced them all with lower powered high efficiency Silverstone modular ones with no bother.

Theres one charging my van right now! Via a conversion and a PL8. Leaning on this very cheap ebay generic one way beyond its capability. Its 12V rail is pulled down nearer 10.x Volts and it has been abused for years. Gets hot. Never goes bang! 12v rail is 18A. I take about 24A from it to charge at 16A and 14.7V. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maytrix-400w ... 0706.m4781

Yes but its not loading, just bad parts. They are like light bulbs. I had one go bang loudly that was sat quietly on a PC that was turned off. Smoke and everything.

All the good mining hardware is out of stock everywhere, from psu's to mobos to gpu's. If you can grab any when it briefly comes in stock, easy $$$ to flip on ebay etc.

UK prices are that high. Overclockers is also never cheap. But service and returns etc are excellent. Those prices are as normal as they ever were. There may be some supply/demand variation but its not great.

I often buy things like electronics, cameras, pc stuff, from the US as the exchange rate even now, makes it cheap!

At one point when I bought my van there was over 2 dollars to the pound. New, was 25K in pounds in 2007. But was 55k here! Now its way lower exchange rate. But still cheaper for us to buy in the us. Eg fuel in 2017... Here its 5.36 per gallon. Thats 7.28 US dollars.

Likewise the cost of a wheelchair van. Its 40% cheaper for us to buy in usa or canada. But looking the other way, you wouldnt like our prices!

I assume that's for an Imperial gallon = 5/4 of a U.S. gallon. If so, your gas costs $5.28/U.S. gallon, still rather extreme compared to the U.S. Today's price in Italy is about €1.40/l (diesel) and €1.48/l (lead free) which works out to $6.41 and $6.78 respectively. We swap places periodically with the U.K. for who's the most expensive.

Disaster. Had lots of snow that began to melt, and the roof leaked. Close enough to get the 7 gpu mining rig to get it wet. Its been out of harms way drying for 24hr The 6 gpu rig was half was far enough away to avoid damage and is running fine.

So now I got a mess, need to see what can be salvaged and what has to be scrapped. It would cost of $5K to replace the hardware in the drown rig at today's prices. Luckily I have renters insurance for my stuff that got damaged. Condo management will handle the roof leak.

But a big wrench has certainly been thrown into plans. banghead

Price drop hasn't effected mining hardware prices here. We jumped in in December. Figuring Ether prices ~$450 would make the rigs profitable in a reasonable amount of time. Ether is @$1,100 or so today so still extremely profitable to mine. And why hardware good at mining is being marked up by retailers, but still very hard to get.

It cost us $1,890 for the seven now waterlogged gpus alone. To replace them at current pricing would cost $4K-$5K

I have a lot of experience with wet pc's... From the days before you could buy water cooled pc's or parts. Home made water blocks, underground oxygen bottles as radiators, aquarium pumps, etc.
